Hate the cancer, not the cancer patient.

Damn. You know an American high school is in trouble when the sports program isn't receiving enough money for luxury items. Do the classrooms even have chairs?

I don't know, I've been around a few people who were assholes even before they got cancer

Considering that cancer doesn't discriminate based on personality, well... I got news for you.

Damn, now that's pretty cool and selfless. Sucks though she's that sick at such a young age.

Yeah. The average cancer patient has a high a - hole probability quotient.

Well, if you're going to die from cancer I can't really blame you for eating anything and everything you want. Not like you have to worry about the diabeetus.

Go fark your mother! Not that you deserve an explanation as to why you're a moron bit consider this:

1. She's a kid. Dying of cancer at a time when most of her peers are just starting to realize life's possibilities and potential. Yet you take time out of your day to ridicule her weight. Your parents did a great job with you.

2. Many of the drugs cancer patients are given, such as steroids, can cause massive weight gain and swelling. We don't have "before" pictures but under the circumstances someone with an IQ north of 60 would give her the benefit of the doubt.

it's called Prednisone, a steroid taken at fairly massive levels for cancer patients.  huge body swelling, most of which is in the face and neck.  i know, i had it.  yeah, you gain weight naturally from other reasons, like inactivity during chemo and recovery, but that is definitely Prednisone face.

A young girl is bravely facing her own demise and is selfless enough to give her wish away, and you take a shot at her because she's enjoying McDonald's with her friend. No "window seat" jokes, you're just an asshole.

I had to take my son to the Children's Hospital for a pretty routine surgery. Seeing the kids in wheelchairs in the lobby, with no hair, connected to an IV... and smiling and laughing with their friends and family... That gives me some perspective real quick. I take way too much for granted.

I agree with you it's prorbably some steroid the kid is on for her cancer treatment plan. My dad's treatment plan was the opposite because of the aggresive chemo he was on. A man who started at 5"10 and weighed 225 went down to probably to 130-135 pounds. He ate what he wanted just to keep weight on and try to put more on.

i went from 200lbs to under 150 a couple times.  while i was on Prednisone i still had a fat face and neck, swollen wrists and ankles but still weighed under 170lbs.  it really sucked.

Oh, let's up it then: I think it's deeply poetic the way she's trying to look like Caspar the Friendly Ghost just in time to become a ghost. How's that?
