(Topless Robot)   A review of the new Bacon Inside Burger from Jack-in-the-Box--which has bacon strips, bacon in the burger, and, for some odd reason, lettuce--as written by a woman who hates Jack-in-the-Box   (toplessrobot.com) divider line 83

I liked it.

It wasn't dry like the usual jack in the box burger.  The burger was smokier than usual, almost like they'd grilled it on charcoal.

They're doing it wrong. They're sober.

It looks better than the Wendy's baconator, at least this one has some vegetables on it.  A burger without some vegetables for contrast is a sad burger.

Wendy's redeemed themselves with their new ciabatta bacon burger though, it's one of the best fast food burgers I've tried.

I like Jack-in-the-Box.  I like the colors it makes as you drive buy it at 50 MPH to someplace that serves food.

Holy darn, there's a darn-ton of bacon in here.

I imagine that if shows like Law and Order, or one of those crime shows, added 5-10 minutes to the start of their shows where there is a couple, found hog tied and brutally beaten before being killed, in the trunk of a car...this is how they would talk.

I tried one and liked it a whole lot. Very tasty burger.

Does fast food bacon just taste like salt to anybody else?

Was I the only one who found this "review" inane and hard to read?  Horrible fake dialogue that prattled on trying to sound clever.
It wasn't.

She sounds fat.

Probably not though.

Love bacon. Wish there were jack in the box here.

I used to live around the corner from a Jack in the Box. As I'm drunk and typing this and reading that review, I miss those days.

2014-02-21 01:29:08 AM
That's probably the most intimate conversation those two have had in their lives.

Exactly. And Jack in the Box actually markets to stoners and other ne'er do wells.

Not sure about rapscallions though. That seems more like a Wendy's crowd.

The only thing I like about Jack in the Box is that when I see one it usually indicates that there will be a better place to eat something in that general vicinity.
Brought some JitB home about 8 years ago and threw up 5 minutes later but otherwise felt fine. Strange situation but no other place in 4 decades has that distinction for me.
I have no intention of eating something of theirs ever again.

This.  I've never understood the love for the Baconator. It's a very pedestrian burger. Just bun, cheese, patty and bacon. WTF. A burger should be a parade of ingredients, not a glorified hot dog.

It's super dry and chalky and I feel gross just by eating it. Most overrated fast food item ever. All just due to the internet ridiculous obsession with bacon. I mean, I love bacon as much as the next guy, but this "bacon with everything" fellas are silly poseurs. When I buy one of Wendy's regular burgers I always go for the Big Bacon Classic. Has bun, cheese, patty, bacon and then an sizable array of veggies to make it more delicious.

Wendy's redeemed themselves with their new ciabatta bacon burger though, it's one of the best fast food burgers I've tried.

They're doing some seasonal burgers here, like they change them every 2 or 3 months. There was a pretzel bacon burger hat was to die for.

I grew up in Houston but live in Shreveport, so no JitB here.  Apparently they all went out of business 20+ years ago from the E. coli scare and never came back.  When we stop at one, I go for my old standby, the Sourdough Jack.  I go there once or twice a year so I'm not in a mood to try new stuff.

My local target for greasy belly bombs is Checkers.  It's worth braving the bad side of town.

Now that you mention it, Checkers (and Rallys) seem to most often be found in the bad side of town.  I wonder if that's part of their corporate strategy, or if the existence of one in an area then drives it down...

north-west austin, near/on lamar around the runburg area, has been a rundown area for a long while.  The first "checkers" I ever saw was near there - long after it was a run-down area.

Just sayin.

I think it's strategy.  They move in cheap in a crappy neighborhood and build a building that has no public restroom or indoor dining area to encourage their customers to keep moving.

I got an ultimate cheeseburger at a Jack in the Box a few miles from my house. Half way through I bit into something like a grain of sand. It put a small chip into one of my molars. Fark them. Hard. Never again.

A great local place has a triple patty burger. One patty is sirloin, one is bacon/sirloin, and the other is chorizo/sirloin.

It comes with bacon and cheese on a ciabatta roll.

Jesus tits, it is fantastic.

Old enough to remember when they all got closed down on Long Island / East Coast thanks to botulism / food poisoning.

Also: White Castle back then would  really give you the runs.

Good times, good times.

As a fan of bigger gals I concur with your assessment. The less someone dances around the word "fat" the smaller they are it seems.

A place in socal called slaters 50/50 has been making a bacon/beef patty burger for awhile. Its ok.

But in july they have the all american burger. 100% bacon patty, bacon strips, bacon cheddar, bacon dressing, and I think some other kind of bacon in it.

When you eat it you'll see god. Or a paramedic. God or parametric.

Not just East Coast, Illinois and the surrounding states no longer have them either due to that outbreak. Loved their crunchy taco's. Didn't miss them since Burger King had them for a while. Now they are gone so I need to go to the West/Gulf Coast for my crunchy taco fix.

On a lighter note, Hardee's (Carl's Jr.) is coming back to the chicagoland area. Granted it's 3, but still.

Their pastrami burgers are better, in my opinion. Juicier, and I can't taste the ground bacon in the 50/50 patties anyways.

You have my deepest sympathies. On the bright side, Harry Dresden's exploits will be available in May.

What is up with Wahlburgers?  I didn't even now it was a thing until a few hours ago.

I keep hearing that commercial on the radio, and I expect to try one of those bacon burgers.  But I expect to be disapointed, because it's Jack in the Box.

They've done this for decades.  Their commercials are always great.  They are entertaining, and they make the food sound very good.  But when I actually go there (which is rare) the food isn't really very good at all.  I do eat out a lot, mostly at burger joints, but since I'm usually disappointed when I go there, I don't do much business with them.

Most of the time, when I do go to Jack In the Box, I get a couple of cheap breakfast jacks.  They do a good job with those.

You JITB haters are crazy.  The Ultimate Cheeseburger (and its big brother the Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger) is quite simply the best thing on any fast food menu anywhere.  Period, end of story, and I'll hear no more about it.

This article was painful to read.  A dude who doesn't like bacon (WTF?), and a wife who compares McDonald's favorably over Jack In The Box.  Jesus help us.

Where I used to live, J in the B was the best fast food joint in town (well, of the big franchised restaurants).
