Here's the Dude (he abides). He lost most of that paw and got a hearneated abdomen tangling with a mean dog (not ours) at 10 months. He recovered, but still falls off of things jumping up. He just tries it again. He's the Dude, he abides. He loves his dad and is in my lap in 2 seconds whenever I sit down.

Happy Caturday everyone!
One of our two cats has been so very happy that I have been bedridden for a while. To the extent that he is getting really spoiled. This morning he was curled up next to me purring. I went to pet him and he yawned, did the scary cat arched stretch, looked at me and hissed his annoyance, then curled back up next to me purring in his sleep.

I think I mentioned the one time months ago he was asleep on my legs, and apparently my rolling over upset him. He walked up did his usual nuzzle with the cold nose until I was awake, then swatted my nose and went back to sleep on my legs. The wife was laughing so hard she nearly fell out of bed. Yep, I know who runs the house.

Happy caturday everyone!

Oh, wow, you guise! A GIS for "cat fashion" brings up some really interesting pics. Who'da thunk a top hat and a lace collar could look so fun and funky, yet strangely vintage - and still be on trend?

I hope you get better soon! I can just see your cat swatting your nose..Eli is like that. He hates the idea that I won't bet up to feed him on the weekends..although he seems to understand I need moar sleep right now. I am still sick. Bleh! I did get a nice snow day to sleep in though..then I had to clear 7 inches of snow frm the driveway. Ugh.

Looks like another injured kitteh... :(

No, that was my kitty, Tilly. She was born with radial agenesis (failure of radius bones to develop) and we found each other at the Greenhill Humane Society in Eugene, Oregon on May 5, 2002. We lost her to cancer on May 13, 2012 (Mother's Day). It was love at first site.

Just like Mercury she didn't know she was disabled. She could go up the stairs faster than me, could jump up on beds, the love seat, chairs, etc. with easy. She had a hopping sort of gait, somewhat like a rabbit. In fact my son used to call her a cabbit because of her rabbit-like appearance when she stood on her hind legs.

Gogh Beastie is so used to me being awake at 3am every morning now that I am not up at 3am by default due to my health issues, he helpfully makes sure I'm alive by pounding on my door and then screaming for help right outside my mom's door if I don't get up and open it. He's a Wegie and they like to lay on your face or sit on your chest and get heavier, heavier, heavier - until you either get up so you can breathe again or ...... well, I guess until you do die. That's part of the reason he's not allowed to really hang out in my lair at night. The other part is - I'm actually allergic to cats. Doesn't stop me from harboring cats, just stops me from letting them hang out or sleep on my head/pillow/anywhere near my face.

I have never even seen that before, but it makes me miss winter and want hot apple cider so I can spike it.

They need to make strawberry whiskey punch or something, because asparagus whiskey punch sounds awful.

Happy Caturday everyone. I actually lost track of time and just checked Fark now. I promised my 14 year old niece a hat but illness and other things (like the yarn going on backorder) got in the way, but I finally got going on it today while binge watching the new season of "House of Cards". Here it is along with a scarf I quickly added in to use up the yarn. I don't have much use for neon green!

Tried to get one of the kitties to at least model the scarf but neither would have anything to do with it.

Happy Caturday Countdown!
Been busy with RL.
:::WALL O'TEXT:::
Cats are doing well, grandparents have persuaded me to start playing Rummy with them, and my Snowbird Parents are still at their winter home.

Lola still thinks I'm evil but the electric blanket is worth putting up with me for a while. Oh, and treats. Let us not forget the treats.

I will take photos this weekend of my motley crew and post them.

Today almost as bad as Moandays, when both Plumbicon & I have regular chorus rehearsals. Had lead section reh this eve  (nearly posted pic of orange cat singing, but train of thought derailed) at which exactly 3 were present; section leader, one other & moi. After all these folk said they wished/needed/promised to come; mayhap 4 said they were unable but would come early Mon. Section leader flang allsortsa profane imprecations in directions of those who promised but didn't  come! SoundEffects also needs rehearse Mon. Wozzat bout split consciousness??
Wilkommen to new or seldom-seens on pg 1, type at ft of.  Cats who own you are all photogenic!
This excellent choice for this wk; not find/make/take time to look at All Possibilities, but Mercury's quite handsome even tho not all there. Enough there to accomplish. furr sure!

Meant to thank you last week for Sam's Club tip, got busy and never back to the thread... alas Sam's is no longer north of the border, they were around briefly, but never caught on...  One of the neighbours at the lake puts me to shame, hummingbird wise, I think they had six(!) feeders last summer.  A couple of their hummers came to visit while I was building the shed in the fall, so maybe I'll be ably to lure a few over this summer.

LOL...Between the three Mercury Blues versions, everyone should find one they like...

We have had Commander Meow Meow for about six weeks now. He is quite possibly the best cat in the world. He's super friendly to guests, he's very snugly, he never bites and only scratches when you rub his belleh- and even then he lets you know that he's moved on to "attack hand" mode. I've been told- "This is the second cat I've ever liked" and "wow- my cat would never come to the door to meet guests".

I feel that it's time. He needs to be lol'd.

Congrats on your new awesome fur baby! I love black kitties! I think we are going to look for an adult male cat next time. I hope when we adopt again, he will be sweet like yours. Our current kitty is a spoiled picky princess who only really likes her one human (me). She needs a friend and I really hope our new kitty will bond with the hubs. I think it hurts his feelings when she gets up and abruptly ends the petting session whenever I walk in the room. He won't admit it of course. He just says it's annoying and disrespectful. Riiiight. lol

Like what_now said: they tend to pick you out, but on the other hand it is often what you were hoping for anyway. After Mandu went over the bridge, I went to the shelter to check out what kitties were there. I only said I was looking for an older kitten or young adult that liked to snuggle but secretly I was also hoping for a black male. When the shelter volunteer suggested I meet Lenny I agreed, and within the first minute of having him in my arms I was in love. He was 6 months and a snuggler. It turns out he was also a black male. (BTW, he told me his name was really Hector)

Yeah, that's what happened with my kitty. My BFF was fostering a litter for her shelter and I went to check them out and she picked me. The other kitties didn't even give me a second glance. But Sake just purred all over me and climbed me and followed me everywhere. I guess next time we pick a kitty, we need to just let the hubs do it. Whichever kitty falls in love with him is the one we will bring home. :)

May not make TempThreadsEnd so quick agin for rest of this Caturday. Still got transcribing to do (seems like doing that for 3 Caturdays) plus Edit on local club radio rag & start Belles radio rag.  Maya said, been able to transmit on BaoFang (sted Feng) Fourtune Cookie 2 handie talkie.  Also new quartet in Scioto Valley chorus up in Columbus OH has chosen Fourtune as name, cuz now they can. QT names in both SwAdelines & BHS, likely HarmonyInc too, exclusive within orgs & may not duplicate. QT names of previous champs also not re-usable.

Snow is melting off nicely here in lovely, downtown Bingham-turd.  Its melting so nicely that all the local meth addicts are picking up icicles and beating homeowners with them for home invasion robberies ala' thread on Fark main page.  Not personally worried, I'm to broke/ugly/drunk to get mugged.

Letter from our Alien, she's got another wound - needs more encouragement and hugs.  Please feel free to mention her in any posts this weekend.  May have to put her in for a purple heat.

Away to parent's house to help them pack for short trip, will be away for the festivities tomorrow.  Everbuddy have a good and safe Caturday.  See you Moansday.

The Dinosaur train is one of the ones in the rotation on Hulu.com for snuggle time with the little one.

When the little one gets in bed or I take a nebulizer treatment, I put on my headphones and watch one of my shows on Netflix or Hulu.
[/grumble]
Unfortunately, our calico ate yet another set of headphones just before bed time last night!  (Not the whole set, just the cord into enough pieces to cut the sound.)  I know this is at least the second set, might be the third one, that she has done this too.  I think I need to invest in some bitter apple or hot sauce to rub on the headphone cords.
[/end grumble]

Oh well, at least my preferred headphones are only about ten dollars plus tax at CVS.  Since it's payday, I think I'll go get another set and take a breathing treatment when I get home while the little one plays.

Timid Goddess: Unfortunately, our calico ate yet another set of headphones just before bed time last night!  (Not the whole set, just the cord into enough pieces to cut the sound.)  I know this is at least the second set, might be the third one, that she has done this too.  I think I need to invest in some bitter apple or hot sauce to rub on the headphone cords.

Lemon juice usually works just as well, and IMHE, most (spray) cologne/perfumes work too, I think it may be the alcohol content. YMMV, use with caution, and remember that some cats simply will not be deterred from their objective.

Interesting week... I have been trying to get through orientation with my new job while getting over bronchitis and laryngitis.  My cough was scaring people so I stayed home today which is probably for the best as they gave me a knife to open boxes and three minutes later I cut myself with it. *shakes head*
When the 02 doesn't make it to the top floor I am about as useful as a decorative thimble.

Good to see you too! (or anybody, I thought I killed the thread)... Meanwhile, put uncooked rice in pan, place open laptop keyboard upside down on rice bed, wait 12 -24 hours, then use canned air or blow dryer (on cool) to dry. Or just wait for OlderGuy to check in and offer to fix it for you :o) He rocks like that.

Mom's Tortie actually loves the taste of tape sticky.  Mom puts some on the arms of her chairs with the sticky side out to keep them from scratching them instead of the posts she puts out for that purpose.

Yeah, I am fully aware of the cats are weird rule.

And Thanks for the tip.  I will definately file that away for near future reference.

Timid Goddess: sherpa18: Realized to say thanks for the lemon juice or cologne tip.

Possibly - most cats do not like alcohol (or acidic liquids) but then again, you might have a wacko like my beloved white boy who adores the weirdest things. In case I forgot to emphasize it the first time around, ALWAYS monitor your cat closely for allergic reactions when using ANY substance to deter and/or entice them - all animals can react differently, so be careful.

They might even turn into dino-kitty :o)

Don't get too discouraged... It took me dozens of tries to get my first green.  Some of it is timing (have they just greened a bunch for the next several hours), some is getting the wording just so, to make your link more appealing, some is luck (how many other interesting stories are there at that time) I've still never had a Caturday thread green, and that's on my wish list.  I've had a green in every tab but video and business, which are also goals, but a Caturday green would be really special.  (hope you appreciate how special they are Sherpa!)

You rang ??   If it was just water, and you unplugged the keyboard quickly, I would place it on something warm, or prop it over a heat vent, keyboard side toward the vent, and leave it for a couple of days.. once it dries out, try it out.. if it is still messed up, trash it.. removing the source of power is the most important stage.. if you spill something other than water, flush it well with very warm water several times, set it on end to drain, and then place it over a heat vent.. seems to work for me... used to work for a restaurant chain.. employees (mostly managers) would spill soda on calculator keyboards.. they were instructed to remove batteries immediately and bring the calculator to the office with their paperwork.... the business owner sent the bulletin on that after I resurrected about 30 of them... I built a 'drying station' in my shop, had a bench just for that sort of thing.. saved bunches of bucks...

They red a ton ALL THE TIME!  I think they say 10 to 1, sometimes it seems like 20 to 1...  If it's a story you really feel we need to know, find another source, and re sub with a bit different headline.  It may well still get red, but you'll never get a green without trying!!!

And apparently it's now breeding season for the pigeons (AKA flying fornicating sky rats) that live around here. Lily has had a full window view, and has been going crazy running across me, then down to the floor, then back up on the desk in full "yoda".....ears down low, slowly creeping up to the window sill. Funny as hell...... :D

So the Ice Queen needs some cheering up.

Found out 2 relatives have cancer. One was an open/close type surgery (nothing they could do so they closed him back off) and the other doesn't want to do treatment because of her age (in her 80s and in poor health already). Add in my other uncle who was also just diagnosed and I currently have 3 relatives who will be or are already on hospice.

Yeah.

This February marks Eli's 13th year. No idea of a birthdate, so I think of February as "his" month. We got him frm a no kill rescue. He had been returned due to his biting. He climbed out of his cage, nestled down with my kid and licked his chin. Done in one. They do choose you.

Actually my first cat I had as an adult picked me by licking my nose..and our maine coon wanna be, by camping out by my Mom's door. A few days before I was married! So I had two cats out of wedlock. And do you know, they died within a week, to the day of one another? It was thier time. So they left together.

Then there is Eli the Bitey, chaser of mail carriers, biter of ankles, motor boat purr and undercover limpet.( mine, mine!). :) what would I do without him? :)

first, re all the relatives, you should ask each of them about one fun thing they want to do, and do it with them while they can.

second, not just kittens, (although I suppose he still is, although he's about full sized)  My Jack gets the high end dry food and very rare canned and the odd tuna or salmon water, and hoe lee shiat when he drops one it is NASTY  ...his mom, same diet... nodda

catmandu: Happy Caturday everyone.

He needs to be lol'd.

catmandu: Via Infinito: I think we are going to look for an adult male cat next time.

[i283.photobucket.com image 750x563]

Hector looks great catmandu, congrats! It took me a long time to get over the loss of Mungo Jerry and find room in my heart for a new furry friend, but it's easy loving the darkness isn't it?.. ;)

Fell asleep on the couch watching s2 of House of Cards last night and regular as clockwork Julian work me up with wet, droolly, rubs on my chin stubble at 6:02am. Still better than Abby's poke-you-in-the-throat-every-10-seconds-with-steadily-increasing-press ure technique. >.<

So S gave me a great idea of what to do with the pile of 7kg blue and green plastic tubs from kitty litter that been stacking up in the basement: cut a small hole in the lid and push a dowel through and then cut a larger 1" hole above, pre-drill two screw holes in the bottom for mounting, turn it on it's side and voila - instant birdhouse. S thinks we should cover them in mactac so they're not an "eyesore" and less likely to be pulled down by the city.. so off to the craft store today and then we're going to do some guerilla ecology and put them up in a couple wooded groves around the neighborhood. :)

Happy Caturday all! Best of luck to the USA in the hockey today, and Go Canada Go!

After trying (officially) for 2+ years, my wife and I finally adopted a bouncing baby boy yesterday.  We've had temporary custody of him since his birth about 2 weeks ago, and are a few states away from home while the paperwork clears.  Anyway, we've seen 3 different pediatricians and all of them ask if we have cats at home.  We do.  Two, Rojo and Winter, ages 7 and 8.  They're generally well-behaved and needless to say are a part of our family.  The doctors all respond with "watch the cats around him".

My question is, how concerned should we be?  Any tips on how to introduce/integrate the new family member, so that everyone gets along?

Personally, I don't think you have too much to worry about. All pets have different personalities, so I would just say use common sense and observe how the cats react with your new one. Make sure that they know he is not a threat, and I'm sure everything will be fine. They will be curious for a while until they get used to him. And congrats!!!!! :D

Good morning all.  Thankfully have the weekend off, and finally getting over this flesh-eating death disease ebola that seems to have infected me since last weekend.  Thought that since the kids weren't here anymore, I'd get lucky and cut back on sickness.  Totally wrong on that one.  Anyway, Starbuck continues to be a complete maniac.  She goes in to get fixed next week thankfully.  This constant screeching throughout the house is driving me insane right now.  Second date lined up for this weekend with someone new.  Last one and I decided on friends only, and we're fine with that.  So it's the Bonefish Grill tomorrow, and hopefully a good time.  At the least, I'll have a great meal.  Will try and get some pics of Starbuck up today, as well as Adama (Dexter) if I can get him to do anything other than be curled up on the couch.

Sad news today.   My guinea pig, Fluff (we just never renamed her when we adopted her), just died an hour ago.  She was always very small, but over the past week, she lost tons of weight (it was painful to pet or hold her because she was all bones) despite constant eating and had trouble keeping her eyes open.  But in spite of that, her personality had no change whatsoever.  She was still her curious, energetic, and very hungry self.

The vet said that she most likely had hyperthyroidism, and we had to go to a specialist in Quakertown to get bloodwork and an accurate diagnosis.  We hadn't made the appointment yet (we were debating whether or not the tests would do more harm than good in her condition - guinea pigs don't take these things well), but I guess it doesn't matter now.

At least when I saw her earlier this morning, she was still herself.  She wasn't suffering in any way.  I guess her body just gave out.  It's really sad - it all happened so quickly, and she was only three years old.  But I've had guinea pigs for over 20 years.  It happens.  I'm just glad she went quickly because guinea pigs usually don't die gracefully.

RIP, Fluff.  I'm sure you're over the Rainbow Bridge and buried in a box of Cheerios.  She went crazy for Cheerios and would literally crawl into the box when she decided that the couple pieces we were giving her weren't enough.  :)

1st: Major congrats on your son. Thank you for loving so much as to adopt. You and your spouse are teh AWESOME.
2nd: don't worry too much about the cats. My kids came home to cats and I put the baby on the floor and let the cat(s) just sniff and explore. Soon, they would wind up curled up sleeping with the warm, hairless "kitten" and all was good. Some cats even go so far as to guard their new addition and alert the hoomin if the "kitten" needs attention.
Use your common sense...you'll be fine.
We all offer our congrats and best wishes for your new family.

Poor little Suzy. She is now scared to go outside, Murder Kitty is outside. When we ask her if she wants to go for walkies she gets all happy, we get her harness on and all hooked up, she rushes to the door, we open the door, she does more of the happy dance. Then we open the screen door. She gets that scrunched up face, and slowly pokes her head around the screen door and peers around to see if Murder Kitty is out there.

We have been trying to get it on video but no luck yet.

Having no experience with introducing babies and pets, I would suggest common sense while introducing the cats to the baby. Did the drs. say anything in particular that you should be concerned about? Biting, scratching, sitting on the baby or my Grandmother's favorite "The cat will suck the breathe right out of the baby" since Grandma was born in 1884 that was probably considered medical fact when she wass growing up.

O hai everyone!!!! I don't have time to do much Caturday-ing anymore, apart from lurking and reading a page or several here and there, but it helps fill the hole in my heart! Back to the constant studying grind, hubby and kittehs 3,000 miles away in sunny California. Got these guys for study buddies, though, so it's not all bad! Also the hubby just got the envelope stuffed with happy thoughts that I sent him (I had a bunch of paper scraps, seemed appropriate), and it clearly had the desired effect because he was grinning ear to ear when we video chatted last night.

Regarding the article, Mercury is so adorable, and he reminds me of our Wembley as a kitten. The T-rex impression slew me. :D

Study buddies...they probably want me to get back to genetics, but I'll try to come back and visit later!

catmandu: Via Infinito: I think we are going to look for an adult male cat next time.

Mercury is too adorable! The kitten pictures are so cute, and when you check out the Facebook, there are lots of grown up pics of Mercury.

The vet was saying last time that the two monsters were gaining weight (really, 6lbs and 8lbs?). I was switching food anyway due to easier access at a closer store, and ended up getting Nature's Balance Reduced Calorie food. Only... Ivan has gain at least two pounds on it. I can feel it in his belly (he's so heavy now!) and even when I weighed him. He's at least 10lbs if not more now. So now I'm wondering if I should put them back on a regular food. Its hard to limit them access because they'll throw a fit (they've always free fed and never been overweight), and throwing a fit won't work since I sleep at night and The Man sleeps during the day.

Little tubby jerk from last summer (when he had his bikini body):

But at least he hangs out with me in my lap on Caturdays. It's a tradition. Now I'm just waiting for food to digest before going running. 10 miles, almost to that half marathon!

My question is, how concerned should we be?  Any tips on how to introduce/integrate the new family member, so that everyone gets along?

valnt9, this may be double linked if such plausible.  URLs supposed to copy in in robins egg blue underlined, indicating automagic link.  If don't, click on Link indicator in 5th box from left, or 2d from right -- furthest right is picture, next left is un link often greyed out, 3d left in that box is Link. If you can see grafik at all, it's supposed to be a link in a chain.

I wouldn't be too concerened. We (or rather I) had a couple of cats, probably 7 years old when our first was born. One immediately adopted her, the other just tolerated her. The one that adopted the baby was always around her.

According to our doctor, having MULTIPLE cats with a newborn/child really helped them with allergy prevention.

Crackers Are a Family Food: [img.fark.net image 640x480]

Sorry to hear this.  :(

The Ice Queen: So the Ice Queen needs some cheering up.

Yeah.

I have a question about pukey kitties. Mine has a tendency to throw up if he eats things too quickly, though he's usually ok with his standard kibble. Sometimes, it seems he can handle other foods, sometimes he can't. Any ideas on how I can still give him treats and the occasional scrap without having to wash the floors after him? It's often a very small amount that he can handle - for example 2 cat treats are ok, but if he has 3, then he's sick. Also, he often throws up several times and in different places. Do other cats do that? Why?!?!
Thanks!

Thanks!!  That's what we figured, it just had us wondering when *all 3* told us ominously to "watch the cats".  They're good kitties, I think we'll be fine.

let them haz a good sniff of the newbies blanket. In fact give them one to snuggle on. You will be fine, and studies show kids who grow up with animals are healthier.

Frozboz: After trying (officially) for 2+ years, my wife and I finally adopted a bouncing baby boy yesterday.

I had seven cats before my oldest was born, and my oldest cat had the most trouble getting along, mostly out of jealousy. Having the entire house rearranged for the new arrival was kind of a shock, too, especially not being allowed in the crib. She'd occasionally take swipes or nip at the head, once breaking the skin. So there's a possible issue there.

The whole "suck the air out" thing is a myth and probably based on a kitty's intense interest in anything that's warm, wiggles, and smells like milk. A seven to ten pound cat on a baby about the same weight can also be a concern, but I never had that happen.

Your sleep is going to be disrupted, so their routines will be thrown off as well. They will get used to it, depending on their age and adaptability. It took about three years before oldest cat decided that oldest kid was not going to displace her in my affections, and she had taken to cuddling up next to the kid on my bed in the months before she died.

/ok, gotta go cry now
//congratulations

I used to have a long haired maine coon type cat who would hoark if she ate too fast, especially kibble. She must have gone hungry as a kit. We would add water to the kiblle to slow down her eating, or mix gooshies with kibble. Sometimes petting to interrupt the nom time too...its an anxiety thing. Also she had a really sensitive stomache. So you may need to change your food..

Got word earlier that one of the furry terrorists, Muenster, finally succumbed to adrenal gland failure.  She had it for over a year, and lost all of her fur within the first two months.  She didn't do too much with the other ferrets, but she was one of the more vicious ones when we brought in a new ferret.  She mellowed out a lot after she got sick, but thankfully she's finally at peace.  Still miss my furry terror babies, and sorry that the kids have to go through that today.  RIP Muenster, your couch diving antics will be missed.

Been a couple weeks now and I havent been able to bring myself to do this but it's time.

My fiancee and I have been long time lurkers to Caturday, but never posted anything.  I decided to make my Boobies in memory of our cat Anastasia who we had to put down earlier this month.

A one time lab cat, used in a veterenary experiment as a youngster, my fiancee rescued her from a date with the pink juice at one year old, and gave her 14 more years of life.  She survived two bouts with cancer, but the third one did her in, as it spread in her lungs, making it too hard for her to breathe.  She served as a surrogate mom to 6 different kittens, gave blood at the vet clinics my fiancee worked at as needed, and was the sweetest, friendliest, and most full of joy just for being alive cat I have ever met.

Shown here in happier, healthier times, she was loved much, loved much in return and is dearly missed.

Enjoy

[img.fark.net image 850x637][img.fark.net image 850x637]

My Abby loves to fetch too! I have to move my kitty pictures onto the new computer so I can post them again. Actually all 3 of my kitties love to fetch, but Abby is the absolute best at it. She actually brings the foam ball or cup (she loves the Robitussin dosage cups) and puts it in my hand or right next to me. The other two drop the ball about 4 or 5 feet away and wait for me to get up & get it to throw it again.

My dad had a cat that did this, and he would just give her a little bit at a time. When she was switched to wet food, it seemed to go down better.

I second changing the food as well as the treats. There might be something in the ingredients that's causing a reaction.

We had a cat who was allergic to one of the additives used in a lot of kibble/treats, and your 2-treats-good/3-treats-bad situation really reminds me of him. Obviously depending upon the hairballs situation some cats are just more pukey than others, but might be worth trying a change up in the kibble/treats to see what happens. Best of luck. :)

It's often a very small amount that he can handle - for example 2 cat treats are ok, but if he has 3, then he's sick. Also, he often throws up several times and in different places. Do other cats do that? Why?!?!
Thanks!

My Abby was an ex-feral and has vomiting issues too. What works for her, and cuts down her throwing up to only a few times a week is feeding her canned food by her self. I also mush it down flat with a fork in her bowl so she has to work longer to eat. It is a no grain cat food and the brand is Go. I also only give them all no grain treats of dehydrated chicken or turkey. The boys are fed a no grain dry food from Fromm. They especially like the Duck a la Veg and the Game Bird. Good luck & keep us posted.

Bitter Polish Adjutant: Been a couple weeks now and I havent been able to bring myself to do this but it's time.

RIP Baby girl.

I am so sorry you lost your sweet Anastasia, she was so very beautiful and lucky to have you both to love. (((((((HUGS)))))))

Adama decided now that Starbuck is off sleeping on top of the bookshelf, it's time for a little affection.  Usually only lasts about 5 minutes, but he loves some head and belly skritches.

I am not a fan of grain free diets for cats since wild/feral cats eat rodents and birds with the contents of the stomach included giving the cat both the protein from the prey's flesh but also the enzymes and grasses and grains that the prey animal is processing

Krusty's Wench: has your new addition been around a cat at all?

Nope, he's a newborn.  We're still in the hotel with him while we wait for the paperwork to clear.

akimbotoo: I don't think you need to be concerned

lysdexic: especially not being allowed in the crib

tigerose: In fact give them one to snuggle on.

Salem Witch: CONGRATULATIONS!

laulaja: Conga-Cats

exvaxman: I wouldn't be too concerened.

Thanks everyone!

Frozboz: After trying (officially) for 2+ years, my wife and I finally adopted a bouncing baby boy yesterday.

When my little one first came home from the hospital, I shut the cats out of the bedroom at night and watched them during the day while I was home.  After about a week, I was confident that they would ignore or avoid her and let them wander in and out freely 24/7.  Now she is three years old and I shut her bedroom door at night because until she gets soundly asleep romping felines or lights in other rooms will wake her back up at her request.

Yeah, we've tried. Three of us could not subdue him and get it done. He should be featured on People of Walmart.
