Holy f*ck, I want to eat that second one so badly.

You assholes got me to go out last night with that comfort food thread. I had grilled chicken wings, mac and cheese, and [mumbles number] jalapeno mezcal margaritas.

I prefer my pizza slices in squares.

According to the article, it is Bali that should not be allowed to pizza as that is where the idea was taken from.

Once the popped the pimple, it looked terrible. It looked all soft and mushy.

I want a white clam pizza from Frank Pepe's

Looks good.

People need to get over the evolution of food and culture.

Otherwise we'd still be eating pizza with a fork and knife.

I still have not gotten to Frank Pepe's yet.

Probably because I didn't want to to drive 20 minutes to New Haven and wait an hour in line.

Every time someone says [location/people] are ruining [food item] with [outlying example that is an exception not the rule] I pretty much consider them an elitist asshole from that point on. The pizza here doesn't look like that. I've never seen a pizza that looked like that. And so what if they make it? Some people probably enjoy it. The only pizza in the world doesn't have to be made with Italian grown ingredients by some douchebag with a thick Brooklyn accent. There are different styles.

Except Ohio style because that looks like someone dumped a trash bag out onto a crust and it's unsettling to look at.

I do too actually, depending on the toppings and temperature of the pizza.

That's... kind of amazing and hilarious. I'd eat it just for the principle of the thing.

I'd eat the f*ck out of that thin  crust one.

I'd try that.

Damnit, now I want some Detroit style pizza, specifically some from a little place a short way from the RenCen.  God that was good, but I think it is closed now.  I think it was just called "Bricktown Pizza"

The only excuse for square cut pizza is you're Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin, or Mao Zedong.

That pizza looks rather undercooked.  Plus green peppers.  Gross.

While I do believe that NY pizza > Chicago pizza, I'm thinking that NY might be a wee bit sensitive about this whole "whose pizza is superior thing."  Winners should act like they've been there before.

All pizza is good, especially Ohio style. That said, the bottom crust on that dome pizza (in the vid) looks chewy as fark and perhaps even underdone.

I thought Wisconsin pizza has fried walleye, swiss cheese, and bratwurst on it.

Pizza is like sex. Even when it's bad, it's still kind of good.

2014-02-20 05:30:04 PM
Seriously? They just set the dome on fire; then they remove the dome. Then, they eat the dome with marinara. What's wrong with that?

I took my date last night to Punch's pizza. All you Twin Cities Farkers should give it a try.

I had to watch the Bali video. The dome prevents the toppings from charing and making tasty tastes.

It might work in a sweet application. Custard filling on the bottom, a little encapsualted leavening to make the dome, then pipe in chocolate mousse after you pull it from the oven and it sets. A litte sugar, enough 151 to brulee the sugar.

Sorry to cut in like this guys but I really think that Little Ceaser's is the best Pizza this year.

HEY MRS. SKYD1V!!!! Pizza needs meat!  And pineapple has no farking business being on pizza!!!  So don't even ask!

The pizza in the video looked disgusting after he took the dome off. It looked way undercooked and there was octopus on it. Who puts octopus on a pizza? That is an abomination.

But the kid was cute.

Don't know what you mean. It has tomatoes, artichokes, olives, red onions and feta I believe. I add sausage. It's great.

2014-02-20 05:48:26 PM
looks like it needs to be cooked longer or at a higher temp, guessing dome is attached after baking? I love pizza but that looks anemic from the steam

2014-02-20 05:48:39 PM
I was into the video, the top looked pretty good even after the fire went out. I thought it was going to look like the second picture when the big reveal came. it looked like a soggy pizza crust a dog barfed, then shat on.
/oh, can't wait for the lawsuits when the first waitress tries to take the top off before the invisible alcohol fire is still burning, or some toddler reaches out " o pretty"!

To be fair this isn't Chicago style, it's Wisconsin lack of style.

That makes sense if it's a very thick pizza (e.g. Chicago style) or if the crust is particularly soft (e.g. leftovers).  For a thin-crust pizza that's fresh out of the oven, using a knife and fork is just as silly as using a knife and fork to eat a sandwich.
