No problem -- we already offended France with cheap wine at a state dinner, what's a 12 pack of water gonna do to Canada?

Is it double or nothing? If so, then nothing.

What a great, great day in Canada. First the curling, then the hockey. We'll be talking about today for years to come.

I saw that game as pretty much an epic collapse by the US Women.

Doubt the men will do the same.

Might be a little challenging to get this delivered in time to make the bet, though.

Holland probably approved of the cheap wine.  France sold its high end collection

Agreed. They're not likely to have a lead to blow.

But I don't think the American women collapsed. Our first goal was a fluke, the second was under intense 6-skater pressure, the third was a 4-on-3 power play.

After the near-fisticuffs of the Canada/USA exhibition games prior to the Olympics, you know they both wanted to beat each other extremely badly.

Well done Canadian girls.

The 1976 Soviet Olympic squad would have had trouble scoring on that Latvian kid yesterday.

Agreed, Price, in my opinion, is not a money goaltender and the US offense is looking good. If Canada can't win, I hope Price gets seriously humiliated and his psyche destroyed (I know, I'm biased and I'm petty but hey, the NHL is more important to me than the Olympics). If he pulls it off then whatever, gold medal game for Canada.

/also I hope the beer is skunky and gives Harper a mild case of the poops

Can't quote multiple people on mobile, stupid fark...

This is for you and Flappyhead:

They can't score because all of their shots are from outside the box (horrible missed call aside). It's not like the Latvian kid was stoning fools point blank. Note to team Canada-the logo is not a target.Granted, the USA plays a much more traditional north American game so it should be be more open out there on the big ice. But I guarantee the USA has been watching that film all day.

I'll take Quick over Price any day. Whatever happens tomorrow, let's hour for good hockey gentlemen and women.

Actually he did on numerous occasions.  Pretty much any time Perry and Getzlaf were on the ice the puck was in the crease.  A large number of shots did come from outside, but that was due to Latvia playing the collapsing box in front of the net.

Granted, the USA plays a much more traditional north American game so it should be be more open out there on the big ice. But I guarantee the USA has been watching that film all day.

Which means what exactly?  Are they suddenly going to give up their more aggressive play in favor of a passive forcheck and a 1-4 defense that collapses low every time the puck is in their end?  That's pretty much all that tape will show.  I expect USA to be the biggest challenge for Canada in this tournament, but the game against Latvia doesn't say a damn thing about how Canada gameplans or how the USA will play against them.

IIRC, the DVDs he gave to Gordon Brown were the wrong format (Region 1 instead of Region 2), so they'd be useless in the UK. You'd think that the State Department would have some office that helps presidents pick official gifts. Either they don't, or the office is staffed with technological illiterates.
