You know what? I'm mad. I'm furious. There are all those stories about lady gaga getting bitten by a slow loris and not a single one actually showed a picture of what a slow loris looks like. *I* had to go to google and look it up myself!

Thanks Obama!

Obamacare is inconveniencing some but is helping, is a godsend and saving the lives of many more.  Probably the best social policy enacted since Medicare itself.

GOP can't ever win this anecdote war.

They are going to put up a rich or upper middle-class person whose premiums doubled or his doctor retired early.  The DNC puts forth a mother and kid with cancer who can get treatment.

They are so farked.   They can spend billions but people actually talk and no other people.  Anyone deluded enough to think Obamacare is so horrible was someone who was never going to vote DNC anyways.  Everyone else will see that the GOP scare tactics were bullshiat all along.

the GOP is shiatting itself. with every passing day, more people get covered and the law becomes that much more entrenched.

even if they gain seats this year, they'll never repeal it until they have a veto-proof majority in each house, which is unlikely. and with the current crop of hard-right ideologues they're trotting out, they sure as shiat won't sit in the white house for a long time.

so basically they're farked.

They already are to some extent. Ron Johnson has started calling it the Affordable Care Act in some of his meetings (though he has slipped up). I've caught several conservative-leaning people making the exact same code switch, and I call them on it every single time.

My guess is that around the end of September, they'll be claiming that "the ACA" was their plan all along and the Democrats copied it.

They wouldn't exactly be lying.
In 2009:
"I think there are a number of features in the Massachusetts plan that could inform Washington on ways to improve health care for all Americans," Romney told CNN. "The fact that we were able to get people insured without a government option is a model I think they can learn from."

I guess I should post this in the right thread...

Through dangers untold and hardships unnumbered, we fought our way to the exchange beyond the login failures to get the insurance quotes promised to us.  For their phone waits where long, and sometimes we got dropped.  The healthcare.gov exchange held no incentive for us.

We found because kids are guaranteed medicaid until their 18th birthday or high school graduation (adoption), we cannot get different insurance or supplemental for them through healthcare.gov.  With just applying for insurance for the wife and I, we don't qualify for a subsidy.  There was no point in dealing with healthcare.gov anymore.  She found a different 'exchange' i guess.  We found something from Anthem BCBS that isn't an HSA, and now will have dental/vision supplimental for the kids.

WI got rid of HIRSP.  Wife and I each where on a high deductible plan.  Looks like we got a better plan now.  Unfortunately it is with Anthem.  Sigh.

Ok, so the horror story is I have to deal with Anthem's crap again.

It's getting really sad. I had a  FB acquaintance post an ACA horror story about the cheapest plan in NC and his friend that only makes around 7k/yr not being able to afford it blah blah blah. I called him on it by suggesting his friend look into medicaid complete with a link. Before I could even find out what the real price on the cheapest plan in NC was so I could really fark with him he deleted his post.

I was really looking forward to shredding his BS in front of all his friends.
