I just walked home from class.  We had about 4" of fresh, damp snow (with thunder) earlier, now it's raining on top of that.  This weather is schizophrenic bullshiat.

2014-02-20 12:34:45 PM
My friend near Ann Arbor just reported blizzards with thunder and lightning, and it's 40 degrees.

Michigan has always had wacky weather, but this years seems a bit on the extreme side of things.

I saw no mention of meteor swarms or rains of frogs.  Headline is incorrect, subby.

The hardware stores have all run out of salt around here.  I think we've just given up and gone into the fetal position with a month of official winter left.   Freezing rain right now but traffic is moving fine outside my window at least.

Thunder snow here in northern metro Detroit. LOL

I love thunder snow. There's a flash of lightning and then a noise like an old-fashioned flash bulb. We went through a white-out blizzard (with thunder) north of Flagstaff on our way to the Grand Canyon. In June. It had been 110 when we left Phoenix.

Yeah, at least there you only get mudslides, earthquakes, and wildfires.  Sometimes at the same time.  I'll take the electrified snow.

I'm by the lakeshore (Holland, MI) and it's snowing (but it's coming down fast/heavy like rain) and there's thunder/lightning. Pure Michigan, LOL.

We got a little of that last night here in Denver.

We had a day earlier this year where there was a record-shattering blizzard in one part of the state and strong thunderstorms and tornadoes in another. The weather this year has just been bizarre.

FTA Look at all of the black lines surrounding the storm.

Stopped reading there, you demanding, condescending ass. I already looked at them, and I know what they are. Don't tell me what to do. Did you used to write 4th grade geology textbooks or something?

Chicago hasn't been much better.

A "powerhouse storm" will hit the Chicago area late tonight through Thursday morning, packing thunderstorms, freezing rain, sleet and maybe some heavy snow, the National Weather Service warns.

Temperatures could reach the lower 50s by Thursday afternoon before a cold front slams into the area with damaging winds that could gust to 50 mph. Friday's high is expected to be in the middle 30s.

With the chances of heavy rain and a thaw, the weather service has issued a flood watch for the Chicago area from 3 a.m. to noon on Thursday.

This is after getting 3-5 inches of snow Monday (with thundersnow), then 40s the past few days.

Yeah but the expressways are starting to flood.  Southfield was like dodging inland lakes.

I'm in Detroit and we had snow, lighting and rolling thunder and now we have rain, everyone is so happy not to be freezing their arses off that they are not complaining.  Of course next week we have Polar Vortex #7 (okay maybe less than 7 but way too many for one winter) and our high on Tues night will be 7 degrees.  I hope like hell that spring gets here soon!  Or we need to legalize weed at least for the winter.  I don't know why we don't legalize it in Detroit and start making some tax money off that shiat!

NWOH got pretty much the same. The way it looks right now (Eriely calm) suggests I ought to go double-check the radar.

It's truly the end times.  Wind AND fog?  How does that even happen.

Someone also apparently thought the fog would aid their getaway.

My entire family in the Saginaw/Flint/Bay City area is talking about freezing rain, snow, thunder, lightening, wind...

Meanwhile, here in North Carolina, it's 73 degrees, a light breeze, and just a slight overcast so the sun isn't blinding.  I normally prefer colder weather, but it is damn nice here right now.

I got that Park Ridge Amber Alert on my phone, too, like 10 mins ago. Seeing as I'm downtown Chicago right now, I doubt I can help.

I live in the exact middle of the mitten. I have seen snow, sleet, rain, freezing rain, fog, and heard thunder; all in the last three hours. Drove to town, no one was in a ditch, no one left their cars on the side of the road. Although schools did send kids home early in some parts.
