No shiat sherlock.

Food stamps is a back door subsidy to Walmart, Krogers, Albertson's, IGA, Meijer's, Spartan Stores, Aldi, Trader Joe's, etc, as well as ConAgra, Kraft, Kellogs, Post, General Mills, and even further back it increases demand for seed, fertilizers, and all the stuff needed to farm.

Cutting them as we recover from a recession was DUMB.

It's almost as if every dollar we spend on SNAP creates more than a dollars worth of economic activity. I wonder if there is a business case for expanding the SNAP program?

Right. Why do we subsidize Walmart and big agriculture?!? Lets do away with these wasteful subsidies to big businesses. End food stamps now!

The problem is poor people get a piece of the action, that is completely unacceptable.  We need to help Walmart now with a tax break.

Easy solution.

Start selling Sam's Field Corn and Walmart Brand Reclaimed Drinking Water.

People can afford huge bags of dried corn meant for livestock and cloudy reclaimed sewage water. Plus, made in America! For now.

/chicken scratch was used for hot cereal in the depression...

Yet food stamps are being used at all time record highs.  Thanks Obama!

So they should get rid of a bunch of low wage workers.

Those now unemployed workers get more food stamps, shop at Walmart.  This continues until Walmart can afford to hire them again.

It's the circle of life.

Maybe we could just give the SNAP money directly to Wal-Mart instead of letting poor people get food with it. After all why support socialism, which never works anyways, when we could contribute more to Wal-Mart's bottom line and in turn they could hire more people and expand more. The money wouldn't just trickle down, it would pour down.

Dollar stores are kicking Walmarts behind.

They are locating thier stores next to their customers that are too poor to be able to drive.

This is the reason the Walmart CEO accidentally supported raising the minimum wage.

They've forced manufacturers to outsource labor so that the people who buy their stuff can no longer afford it.  Clearly, the best solution is to insource consumers by shipping boatloads of the Chinese laborers who make Wal-Mart products to America so that they can purchase the products they made at American Wal-Marts.

It's so simple.

Don't you see!?  It's wealth redistribution.  Rather than having the government collect MY tax dollars to give to the poors, the government is cutting out inefficient government bureaucracy and forcing stores to raise prices on me, thereby redistributing my consumer dollars directly to the poors!

Won't we need to pay more benefits to those who lose their jobs due to the hike in minimum wage? Those increased benefits will be spent at Walmart and other big companies, no? We'll still be subsidizing them. You win again, Walmart! Damn you!!!

Also, they hire as few employees as possible (many of them part-time) who don't give a crap about the business, so they end up with badly stocked stores and unsold inventory that has to be blown out at a deep discount.

The chart, and the underlying logic, is garbage. Were it true, we could infinitely expand our economy by pumping more and more money in to food stamps.

For every change of hands you point out, there are also change of hands costs to offset them. Don't you realize that? Moving money around on a table does not generate wealth.

In the sense that redistributing wealth somehow results on magic money: it doesn't. Not only do you have equivalent or greater opportunity costs, you also have to pay for the farking redistribution apparatus.
