The limited edition BrewBurger, dreamed up by BrewDog co-founder James Watt and Honest Burgers co-founder Tom Barton, is a 150g aged beef patty with Comté cheese and bacon glazed with BrewDog's iconic amber ale, 5AM Saint.

Glazed?  The alcohol is going to boil off.

The BrewBurger is topped with beef dripping and beer fried onions

Fried?  The alcohol is going to boil off.

using BrewDog's flagship Punk IPA and a BBQ reduction made from BrewDog's Paradox cask-aged Imperial Stout.

Reduction?  You guessed it!  The alcohol is going to boil off.

The burger contains enough alcohol that customers will have to show ID before ordering.

Not by law of course, just by house rules to drive up the gimmick.

Wait, wait, wait.  Are you suggesting that this is a lame stunt like the hot wings so hot that they "require" a waiver be signed?  Unpossible, I say!  I am certain that the food is excellent and the restaurant does not depend on transparent schtick to separate customers from their money.  Good day!

Done in one.

That was first thing I thought of too. There aren't any laws on the books addressing "alcohol content of a food dish".

Nope.

Fark, I am disappoint.

Sure, it's a gimmick, but it's also a bacon burger with a craft beer...

Why so harsh?

Admittedly, it wasn't until I was much older that I realized "fun" sized candy was in fact not much fun.

It's not the product (necessarily).  It's the gimmick.  When I see a lame gimmick, I assume that even the people selling said product don't have confidence in the quality to generate sales.  As it happens, I find that's typically the case when I go against my better judgement and give something like that a whirl.

Sorry, but the BrewDog boys aren't american. They're scottish or something. They're the ones who every winter make some big splash with a beer that is like +50% ABV. Every year they kick it up a little higher.

This is one thing I don't get.  5-6 years ago farkers were complaining about "weak, American beer". Now it is "OMG TOO MANY HOPS!!!" So make up your damn mind, please.

Lots of hops are fine if balanced with enough malt.

Except that it automatically comes with a beer, which would require the ID.  (Yes, still a marketing slogan... but at least they made it accurate by including the beer.)

/Sounds delicious either way

There's a difference between "this is weak, flavorless piss-water" and "I want as many hops as can physically be put into beer!"

and the Brew Dogs TV show (I know it's on the Esquire network)... where they travel around the US to different craft brew cities and make unusual brews... in San Fran they captured fog to use as the water for their brew... then did some vapor testing of the finished product...  In Philidelphia they brewed their all American beer in a 4th of July Parade on a float...  they amuse me... I enjoy the show.

Yes, and considering Scotland is on the island of Great Britain calling them British is technically correct.

So, it's pretty safe to presume there's not enough alcohol in the item that they're required to pay the state extra sin taxes on it.

Telos: Let's put it this way:  Is it wrong to call a guy from NYC an American?

no it isn't 'wrong'... but why don't we just go with how he refers to himself?  and in this case the BrewDogs guys (James and Martin), refer to themselves as Scottish and their Brewery as a Scottish Brewery (2nd largest in Scotland, btw) and their beers as scottish craft brews... if you feel the need to throw some imperialist title over the top of them, fine, call them British... but they refer to themselves as Scottish.
