I'm beginning to think that the Buzzfeed article was commissioned by Donald Trump himself.

I farking hate rooting for Buzzfeed.

If the Buzzfeed writer is factually inaccurate, Trump is welcome to sue.

Pretty soon these loons will learn that they can only be interviewed by expressly conservative outlets.

Driving the editors at Breitfart to insanity is like driving down to the end of the driveway to check the mailbox

You're assuming the editors at Breitbart aren't already insane.

I cant believe Breitbart even HAS editors. How can someone read a piece by Victoria Jackson or Ted Nugent and say, "oh this looks good, lets print it!"

I had the weirdest dream the other night. I dreamed that my close personal friend Donald Trump and I were wandering around the left bank of Paris, trying to choose a cafe to hang out for at a while. Privately, Trump is a charming, funny, and humble man; he just plays the buffoon in public because it's good for business. Also his real hair, which he keeps by the door when not wearing it, is black and straight.

Man, I have to try drinking less close to bedtime.

The article was surprisingly well written... especially considering it was a Buzzfeed article.

I don't think The Donald comes off "bad" in the piece, though; he just comes off as a brilliant marketer of himself and nothing else. I think he's more upset that someone called him out on it.

From what I can tell of the site, "driving the editors at Breitbart to the brink of insanity" could only bring them closer to sane.

If "The Donald" is pissed about the profile then it was probably accurate.

Donald Trump and DeadLiar.com.. nope, I don't want to know.

So, journalism has come to articles about articles that are articles about media/self creations?

Whateves.

Donald Trump can DIAF.

Not sure which is more annoying. Donald Trump or Buzzfeed. This is a lose/lose situation.

I'm not surprised.  Anybody who could wear the mother of all combovers like that and think it looks good is not somebody who takes reality checks well.

I don't know what the problem is.  Despite the occasional jab, that article was the most humanizing peince i've ever seen on Trump.  It made me go from outright hating him to having a tiny bit of pity for him.

Not only that, it isn't the "hit piece" that these overly sensitive Masengil marketers are trying to get us to believe... They need to line up in front of a fire hose, one by one, and spray the farking sand out of their vaginas,

You're talking about a web site that once claimed the "Build-a Bear" franchise is a communist plot to indoctrinate our children.

This is strictly dog-bites-man stuff.

Buzzfeed and cracked are both starting to churn out some interesting longer form articles--cracked still tries to maintain the list format, even as the content gets serious and interesting (look for their recent articles on being a heroin addict or being a drone pilot); buzzfeed actually has good, interesting, normally formatted articles on their website (there was a good one about a snake-handling preacher that I read recently), you have to look for them, generally, but they're there, and are a lot better than what Slate and Salon are churning out these days.  But it feels weird to read and enjoy those articles on those sites--you don't generally expect sites like that to get "better" in their content.

"I don't know how to say it-he was looking at me like I was yummy," recalled Bianka Pop, a hostess at Trump's Florida resort, almost a month later.

Bianka Pop is the name of my Kraftwerk/Abba fusion jazz band.

There is an area of the mind that could be called unsane, beyond sanity, and yet not insane. Think of a circle with a fine split in it. At one end there's insanity. You go around the circle to sanity, and on the other end of the circle, close to insanity, but not insanity, is unsanity.

This sort of reminds me of when they went apesh*t over Matt Taibbi's Andrew Breitbart obituary when it was actually one of the nicest things anyone's ever written about him.

Or when "beer cozies" became "beer coozies". Or when people started pronouncing Tempe with the accent on the last syllable.

The article is about 100 times milder than things that are said about Obama on right-wing talk radio and TV every single day.

Get over it

Vainglorious may be applicable, but the correct descriptive phrase for Trump, submitter, is "short-fingered vulgarian".

I'm just thankful Brietbart has the decency to not write hit pieces like Buzzfeed.

GIS for Bianka Pop seems like you like people looking at you like you are yummy.

I think that's why the Breitbart editors are going insane... They are true believers and actually thought the Donald was serious. This piece showing he's just marketing himself shines some light on their delusions.

My favorite line

FTFA: "Covering Trump's various stunts and inflammatory comments feels increasingly like a chore, akin to donning a network-branded parka during a snowstorm and shouting into the camera about a predictable phenomenon that viewers somehow still find surprising."

So much truth in one place, I love it.

Maybe the extra o makes it worse somehow, because I'm having a hard time getting my outrage up over a guy that looked at some women. Wow what a scandal.

Actually, the politics section of buzzfeed is pretty reliably good. Coppins and Andy Kaczynski are pretty solid.

Mikey1969: Not only that, it isn't the "hit piece" that these overly sensitive Masengil marketers are trying to get us to believe.

Exactly. There's plenty of easy, tabloid dirt on Trump out there that a lazy reporter could have focused on, but the article is really a substantial look at the man's marketing of himself by tantalizing rubes of a presidential run. The big question left unanswered is whether he actually believes his own hype or not.

Really, it reads as a cross between The Emperor's New Clothes and Citizen Kane, which is sort of tragic in a way.

It seemed pretty even-handed to me. If he's upset by hearing an outside take on his frankly bizarre life, then that's a personal issue.

Damning with faint praise.
