Which is stupid, since DBD is reaching Hulk/Stone Cold/Rock levels of popularity outside of the fan base. Of course, HHH has never been known for doing the 'smart thing for this ah businessss'

What would be awesome is if Punk stayed gone from WWE and started up a new promotion by poaching the unappreciated talent from WWE. He could probably get DBD, Del Rio, and maybe Ziggler. Get a good money man with connections (I'm thinking Mark Cuban could go for this), a popular front man (Brett Hart or Mick Foley), and a good promoter (Paul Heyman). They could conceivably buy out TNA and take the talent from there also: AJ Styles, Austin Ares, Sting. TNA writing is starting to get better, but they need something like a huge influx of top talent plus someone to replace Dixie as a promoter and someone that could get them the bigger arenas instead of the high school gyms they show week after week. And with the expiration of WWE's contract with NBC/Universal expiring soon, the time would be right to push a new promotion on basic cable.

But rather than striking while the iron (or catch-phrase syllable) is hot, WWE will need to cool off his push to see if the fans are really into him or not.

Buried Alive match with Kane, followed by two months off TV to start.

Probably should do a losing streak gimmick when he gets back too.  Just to make sure you know.  Maybe have him lose a few times to Alberto Del Rio in a feud about who has the best submission finisher.

Losing to JTG and Zach Ryder, just so you REALLY know where he stands.  Then tell him he's doing a 'gets frustrated and quits' angle, and release him while he's off TV.  Then Triple H can go on TV and talk about what a loser and a baby he is and that he took his ball  not that he has any and went home.

"He's taking a sabbatical"

My guess is he's currently doing research in Western Europe. That tends to be the most common sabbatical location for people who wear blazers from Chicago.

JSonline.com recently spoke with Mark Henry and it was noted that when his WWE contract expires in two years, he's "really" retiring this time. Henry talked about working with new WWE talents once he retires from the ring:
"When I do retire, you won't see me in the ring, but I will be working in the back with the young guys."

I'd love it if at the end of his contract, he came out to the ring, and gave another retirement speech. Started laughing about his fake one and what a great job it was to fool everyone. Then have everyone come out to clap for him, champ gets in the ring, Mark turns to leave..then WSS AGAIN.

He revels that he signed a one match extension because he has one more in the tank. Then you get a full month to build to Mark's retirement title fight with everyone behind him.

Buyrates from the end of 2013 are in...

Battleground in October: 114,000
Hell in a Cell in October: 228,000 (up from 199,000 in 2012)
Survivor Series in November: 177,000 (down from 208,000 in 2012)
TLC in December: 181,000 (up from 175,000 in 2012)

And what was the best drawing PPV? The one where everyone thought Daniel Bryan was going to get the belt.

And what happened after Daniel Bryan was shuffled to the backburner and Randy Orton took over?

Buyrates tanked.

HA!

/Battleground doesn't count, since it's the superfluous extra October PPV.

Our Kate is a fine example of elegance, grace and Canadian beauty. America's Kate is a slovenly corpulent mess, just like most of America.
