Bonanza Jellybean: no nws warning for this?!??

What a red hot Mercurian penis may look like.

The aliens must have moved from Mars after they were getting too much attention.

They'll probably next move to one of the moons of Jupiter just to get some privacy.

neurothing: Monkeyhouse Zendo:
Mercury is tidally locked and has a rotation period the same as it's year: 88 days. One side is always being broiled by the sun, the other in perpetual darkness.

No it's not.  Mercury's sidereal day length is 58.6 (Earth) days.  It's year is 88 days.  It's solar day (time it would take for the sun to return to the same spot) is 176 days.

This.
Better (and more accurate) explanation.

Mercury is frickin wierd.

All these worlds are yours except Europa. Attempt no landing there.

This just in: Alien buildings found on the surface of Mercury

In related news, moonbats found in Australia.

So then we should really be looking for a civilization built on rails that moves with the day-night cycles.

And we should watch for the mood swings when we make contact.  All that moving around would tend to give them a mercurial personality.

So, tell me, when do the Masons and the Knights Templar get involved in all of this?

They seem to be involved in nearly every other mystery and treasure hunt on Earth so why not Mercury and Mars?

See, this is what happens when you give the Lunatic Fringe access to software without explaining -- in very simple words -- the limitations and occasional quirks.

We all know they're out there.  They're in hiding.

Keep trying. Eventually they WILL find an alien base somewhere (in a few hundred or thousand millenia).

We should attempt a landing on Europa, just to check.

Xanlexian: One UFO expert is convinced NASA photos show a city on the red-hot planet's surface.

From -280F at night to 800F during the daytime.

Do these cities only come out at night?

There are animals on this planet in the deep seas that exist with one end near a vent where the water is 150F, and the other end where the water is near freezing.  If one organism could thrive is such extremes, it is not entirely unplausable that life could exist there.

However...  The temps listed there, are WAY more extreme.  I don't think there are many elements that could survive in a solid state in those conditions, let alone be stable enough to create living material.
Your point still stands.  I'm just playing devil's advocate.

Also, what's wrong with mocking religion? All they have to do to get me on their team is present some evidence other than a pack of third had eyewitness account

I keep asking the same thing from the Church of A. Global Warming.

So far all i've gotten is denials about the predictions they keep getting wrong. It's like a doomsday cult that keeps pushing the drop dead date out and denying they were prepped to drink the kool-aid the last time date.

I've heard the real estate market on Mercury is hot and getting hotter. Good transportation and schools, and with today's low interest rates, well, you better move and move fast, before this opportunity passes you by.

LOL this guy is a total moran!

It's not a city dumbass!

It's our new ultra high-security penitentiary facilites... I saw it on this documentary with Vin Diesel.

The privatized prison industry funded the endeavor with their exponentially increasing income.

The best part about that picture is the battlements on the walls. The number one threat to a moonbase is definitely going to be guys on horseback laying siege to it.

Hey it never hurts to plan ahead.  This thing was put in place for long term use, and just like the settlers that came to the new world brought horses with them, there will inevitably be moon horses too... it makes perfect sens if you just think about it a little bit...

I challenge that evaluation.

But you don't understand, he's an EXPERT.  Just because his field of expertise is imaginary, doesn't mean he's wrong...  Oh, wait it does.
