Shakin_Haitian: Shakin_Haitian: Worst game recently?I wanted to see what the hype about this series was and this game was 12 bucks. The first Bioware game I've played since BG2 and well... fark Bioware if this is the type of game they make any more. There was no consequential role playing whatsoever, I was leveling up powers that all felt the same, and I was just running down corridors killing people. Twelve bucks was too much for this game. I stopped after three hours and never turned it back on.Whoops. It was a picture of ME3.
Theaetetus: nmrsnr: nmrsnr: It was barely a game, and you had to be a farking actual surgeon to get the goddamn appendix out (which I never successfully did).Let's try that again with a picture:[www.dosbox.com image 320x200]That game was awesome. And yes, very difficult.
FuryOfFirestorm: Remember that this is EA that's making this, so expect this game to have a f*ckton of microtransactions. They are going to milk that cow until the udders squirt blood and pus.

sprawl15: because lots of old games people love have dated gameplay
yukichigai: I'd argue it brought the first-person shooter genre to the attention of the console gamer crowd.
Shakin_Haitian: Confabulat: Egoy3k: I'm sorry but it simply wasn't as good as nostalgia makes you think it was. You're simply not remembering the time correctly. Half-Life came out over a year later so Goldeneye was dated? WTF kind of logic is that? Not to mention that PCs back then could be infuriatingly hard to get games working on, and multiplayer almost had to be played at LAN parties due to crappy internet. Multiplayer, for the most part, was still local.
Seikuro: Amen to that. Often times, no joke, I'd just turn off the anesthetic with the patient cut wide open so they died.
Fark Griswald: The Slush: Jim_Callahan: Yeah, and the buzz for Titanfall is kinda giving me flashbacks to thatYeah, Titanfall's gonna suck. I haven't really been paying much attention to it but the hype seems unavoidable. Are we really expecting a good game from people who shat out Call of Duty? AND it's being published by EA? Yeah, good f*cking luck if you drop money on it with that pedigree. 5 hours of shooting brown sh*t on rails, but this time it's different, BECAUSE ROBOTS. It comes out in 3 weeks, have they released any actual gameplay footage that doesn't look exactly like Call of Duty?As far as the worst games I've ever bought, that's hard to say. I feel like games in recent years have disappointed me moreso since I have far less time to play games now. Spore, Dragon Age 2, Elemental: War of Magic, and Diablo 3 immediately come to mind as recent games that have completely missed the mark. I'm sure I've owned worse in the past though. You realize they JUST finished the Titanfall open beta right? I'm not a CoD fan but I enjoyed my time with Titanfall. I'm way behind the power curve in twitch based shooters but I think they have a solid game on their hands that will be fun for a while.
RockofAges: MurphyMurphy: Bought?!You mean buy? With actual money?LOL,/I stopped falling for that shiat a long time ago.Long time pirate here. #Warez was the bomb (and still is, for music and movies). Games are such an enormous pain in the ass due to all of the possibilities for malware, shiatty cracks / hacks, etc. Games are also so cheap nowadays that, really, even my broke ass can't justify torrnting them anymore. Seriously, if you can't spend $5 on a AAA title legitimately, at that point, I lose some respect. It's all about price point. Price your album on bandcamp for $5 and I will buy it if I like it. $15? Now I have to think a little harder. Steam figured this out and undercut game piracy by a HUGE margin. I would suggest that many PC gamers (maybe even most) are ex-pirates from the 80s and 90s (early 00s) who gave up the black flag when their major complaints (shiatty, overpriced games) was at least ameliorated somewhat.
Ambivalence: Resonance of fate. But. Bought it used so I don't feel quite so screwed over.
ChaosStar: I got the damn thing to run exactly ONE time, then never again./The Avatar can't swim for shiat
fusillade762: Lsherm: And Doom motherfarking 3. That "game" was a pile of shiat, a disappointment, and the whole reception from everyone that it was good made me think the world had lost their goddamn mind. The thing that killed me about Doom 3 was you're surrounded by all this amazing technology, but apparently no one had figured out how to tape a flashlight to a gun barrel.

starsrift: I've bought and played a lot of stinkers. But the only game I actually ever returned after a half hour of play was Grand Theft Auto III.Driving around the town at high speed and try to watch for landmarks, not crash, etc etc, it just wasn't my thing. I only got more disoriented and lost the more I played, and I f*cking love open world games. I get that the GTA games have objective arrows and stuff in them now, but I've not given the franchise another try.GTA2 or nothing. :|
hardinparamedic: I never thought I could find a game worse than RE:6. I was wrong. Not only is the combat system buggy, and the ranges of the weapons completely unrealistic, but the story line tried too hard to be a downer Romero ending tribute.
Radak: Obviously it should have been in the original version, but the Duct Tape mod solved that problem.
Theaetetus: Oh, and of course...[2.bp.blogspot.com image 320x240]Quicktime Events: The Game
Twitch Boy: Confabulat: Mr. Fuzzypaws: Grand Theft Auto 4, it was actually a birthday gift but I really regret asking for it.Really? I thought it was a letdown after Vice City but I've never really considered it a bad game. Why the hate? They made a gorgeous, extremely deep, detailed, and realistic world...and completely forgot to put in any fun. AND FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME NO ROMAN I DON'T WANT TO GO FARKING BOWLING!Fortunately, they learned their lesson and GTA5 got the fun part right.
nmrsnr: It was barely a game, and you had to be a farking actual surgeon to get the goddamn appendix out (which I never successfully did).
