If it's not an NCAA violation, the school should reimburse those kids their five bucks.

(Then again, that could be a violation in itself.)

The NCAA may currently say it's not a violation, but they're probably just saying it.  Knowing the NCAA, it probably was a violation, and the NCAA tried to distance themselves from this controversy before the talking heads of ESPN went off on them.

I "get" that being outraged at NCAA is what cool kids do NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCES but this is an OU being pants on head retarded and stealing $5 from a few student athlete thing not an NCAA thing.

Nabb1: The article says the NCAA said it wasn't a violation, submitter. The university self reported what it mistakenly thought was a violation.


But doesn't that really say a bit about the NCAA though.  It's penalty rule book is so damn broad that universities must self-report how much their players eat because it MIGHT be a rule violation.
