Paying off a almost 2 million dollar debt.  800 bucks at a time. Ouch. Funny...how our government is so quick to grab your cash, or property, but when they owe YOU..its a battle to get it. If ever.

Yes. My tax returns are SUCH a battle. Seems like every year I have to match to the treasury with torches and pitchforks to get mine.

You may have a point with the backlog in processing stuff like VA and SSD claims though...

Two surprises:

It's not alimony or child support.
No anonymous donor has paid it off.

Oh, that's right, he's not a republican.

Its always clear which party a politician is from by how the media starts these types of articles. .. if its a Republican it is always mentioned at the same time as their name. If its a Democratic party member its always brought up like an afterthought

The Kansas City Star is only fit for a bird cage. Having said that, it is obvious that the bankers are a bunch of racists and should be under investigation for predatory lending practices.

$1.2M is 170,000 car washes @ $7.

If you had 50 customers a day it would take 9 years to pay off, assuming the water and soap are free and any labor is handled by robots.

In other news, US Representatives are actually considered employees of the House of Representatives as an institution.  I always figured they were independent contractors whom the House awarded two-year contracts to serve when they won election.

Oh, don't go trying to play the race card. This has nothing to do with what color you are.

Someone needs to tell this congressman that car washes are most profitable when used to launder money, not cars.

Most readers have stopped reading by then.

Of course it isn't a Republican, this is Fark that was right there in the headline.
Fark rules:
1. If a republican does something bad, always mention the party in the headline.
2. If a non-republican does something stupid, never mention their party.
3. It's not biased, It's Fark.com

You forgot to add that the number of posts will never be enough to warrant 2 pages.
If it was a guy with an R after his name there would be at least 7 pages of Fark outrage.
