Thought about submitting a link with the headline of "US Men's Hockey has never found a Czech they can't cash." but this one is probably more apropos.

Looking forward to the Canadians on Friday.  Wish I could get the hours off to watch it.

They'll burn cities down whether they win or lose gold in hockey.  So just make it the latter.

The break room at my work only has broadcast channels. I'm either looking at taking a long lunch or using a PTO day to stay at home in order to watch the game Friday.

Everyone saw this coming. Beating the Slovaks was enough satisfaction.

Though it would have been nice to see them go farther - I wouldn't have to hear "Nagano, Nagano, Nagano" every time hockey  comes up.

US Hockey will feast upon the moose carcass of Canadian Hockey. So let it be written. So let it be done.

First we take the gold from their women tomorrow.

Then we take their men's god and burn it on the alter of USA Friday.

THIS WILL BE GLORIOUS!

Since the bad gateway ate my post earlier...

I finally got a chance to watch the Latvia v. Canada game.

Wow.

I couldn't believe the way the Latvians held on considering they were getting pummeled in the stat line. They came out with the right mindset, try to out-physical Canada and it seemed to work. For a while.

Not to mention the goaltender was freaking phenomenal.

All in all, it sucks the Lats lost, but I expected them to get their heads caved in. I'm happy they played the game of their lives against such a stacked team.

I'm proud of my boys.

Now let's hope the US can put the dagger in you maple syrup chugging moose jockeys. :-)

Hey now. The looting and burning needs to rotate around Canada as they are a quasi-socialist society with nationalized healthcare and stuff. I propose the next looting and burning spree be spawned in *spin the wheel-o-large-Canadian-cities* Calgary. Because Flames. And Dion Phaneuf. Edmonton can have a small brush fire so they don't feel left out.

Ok...but they rest of the team made some plays when it counted too even though the goalie was a freak-a-zoid.

That one kid channeling Gregory Campbell stands out in my mind. Grit and balls.

Gudlevskis plays for Syracuse, in the TB Lightning organization.

That's right...an AHL goalie just about beat Canada.

And?  A team with zero pro players beat the Swedes in Salt Lake.  These things happen in short tournaments.

As long as the Russians go home with jack squat, I am happy. Of course the US will win the gold, but the look of horror on Putin's smug face should be bronzed.

I can't wait to watch the woman's game tomorrow. The rivalry is awesome. These are the two teams who line brawl in exhibition games so I'm expecting one hell of a game.

Not much.  He was getting 4th line minutes and had no points.  Matt Duchene is taking his spot.

Nah.  It's just like how I can cheer for Crosby in a Canada sweater, but hate him in a Penguins one.

This game is going to be a barn burner, can't wait.  Though, it'll probably be less violent than the women's gold medal game.

Screw the rest of the world.

All hockey games should be scheduled according to the Eastern Time Zone no matter where the games are played.

This having to working during incredible games is really taking its toll on me.

I just cleared my schedule for both games. I like them too much to miss them.

As far as I'm concerned, there's only 3 Olympic competitions that matter: Downhill Alpine, 4 man bobsled, and Hockey. And the greatest of these is Men's Hockey.

I DVRed both noon games today. And I avoided the score to both of them all day. Then they kept giving me the score to the US game during the other game.

Can't win.
