Is it just me or does the guy at 1:00 have a very punchable face?

/and I'm not even the kind of guy who thinks stuff like that. But... wow, I think that hipster overload just woke up something in me

TFA says it was made by RIT alumni, so I'm not surprised that they're the opposite of sexy.

Those are hipster rims, subby. They do actually appeal to a certain type of girl, so I'm not sure if "birth control" is the right word these days.

Time for me to finish up my personal EMP generator, I guess.

Considering the name, they had better include one of these.

FTFA: Mack told me: "Our biggest competition is Google Glass but our approach is different, because we focused on creating a device that people don't mind being seen in."

I think you need to start over.

I love geeky toys, but I feel like I could completely skip the wearable-tech thing.  Let me know when they can just wire that shiat right into my visual cortex.

Love me some Archer. My friends even call my newborn son "Wee Baby Seamus".

Dorky?  They look like glasses, not some techno-nerd Borg device.  In TFA it specifically says that they are designing the system to be used with any sort of glasses, no matter what the prescription.  That and the simple fact that their concept is aiming for a true HUD, rather than peering up to the right to watch a tiny screen.

FTFAMack told me: "Our biggest competition is Google Glass but our approach is different, because we focused on creating a device that people don't mind being seen in."

So, they want to follow Apple's example and make it a fashion accessory more than a tech device?

I don't look down on people who choose function over form. So what that hipsters, meatheads, and asshats will think that Google Glass looks bad/dorky/etc? I'd want the device to be useful even if random laptop'd people that I'll never have anything to do with in a coffee shop might think that I'm less than fashionable. I don't give a single fark what someone else thinks of me or my fashion choices or my lack of regard for their opinions on such things.

What I do look down on are people whose primary driving force in life is something as shallow as fashion to the point where it rules how they live their life. If you're interested in a piece of tech but will refuse it because it just isn't sexy enough to garner the approval of strangers or you think that it'll make you look bad in general, then I think that you're a pretty sad individual.

Now, of course no one is obliged to give a damn about my opinions either. I'm cool with that. Do your own things regardless of me.

It's just that the thought of being constantly worried about having the approval of others over a such a superficial matter seems like it would make for a pretty miserable and shallow existence.

In any case, those glasses are ugly as fark. They look like a mix between hipster glasses (which are also ugly as fark) and wanna-be future retro from the 80's.

Although that makes sense. I can see their target audience being hispter douchebags.

/No, I'm neither fat nor a slob despite what that message may imply to some.

Good Luck getting approval, from the powers that be, with a device that is in your field of vision 100% of the time. There is a reason you have to look up and to the right with Google Glass.

/Also the frames look stupid.
//The dorky overweight guy, who's clearly the one behind the tech aspect of it, probably didn't need to be placed in front of the camera.

Bonus: At 0:49 it says "Prototype rendering: Icis lens removed".
So what does it look like once it has the equipment built-in?

Meanwhile, I do like the edge-based UI.

Yes. By having unprotected sex on a pull-out couch.

That was decades ago, though. Like I said, BC glasses is pretty outdated when you've got these girls at the bar drinking PBRs:
