Nowhere in the article does it warn you that the 3D animator has been off his face on LSD for the last seven years.

Roger Ebert #1 rule of camp is that it only works if the artist are treating it seriously.

If this was an honest attempt at 3D, then it's funny. But it's obvious they were trying so had to be bad- so this sucks.
2014-02-19 07:10:26 AM bad.

Yeah, I'm going to go with "stupid" instead.

The 3D version is terrible.  I bet a 3D version of Steamboat Willie would be cool if the guy who did it knew what he was doing.

I sure it wouldn't be so bad if there was, you know, effort involved.

I came here to biatch about the fail tag. Then I saw the video. Well played, Subby.

Strange, they left out the part where the mouse chops off the cat's legs and throws them in the fire.

I am pretty sure I've animated things better and more professionally an hour after hitting the Taco Bell hard.

The CG is almost as bad as Pigasso's Place, and that was from 1994!

You misspelled "terrible."

On the other hand, the 3D short they run before Frozen that flips between the Steamboat Willie style of animation and 3D is cool and clever and beautifully done.
2014-02-19 09:30:22 AM
Well, that sucked.

That had to be made in 1996 True Space Software

I watched that cheese animation for some time before I realized what was going on. It reminded me of when my mother-in-law stood in front of a line of neckties in a shop in New Orleans for about ten minutes before she ran off saying, "Eee! It's a PENIS!"

That was obviously someone's VERY FIRST TIME using 3D anumation software.

Big portions of the old-school Mickey cartoons are loopable.  They were purposely animated in a way to extend the length of time without having to draw that entire length.      Draw it once, really well, then reuse it.

The past called and says Disney paid money for nothing.

Mickey Mouse in 3-D looks like he's suffered a series of severe allergic reactions.
