Is the headline trying to be sarcastic? I really can't tell. I thought the movie did to well, in which case it's not surprising that there is a sequel in the works.

The first Ride Along had the biggest Martin Luther King Jr. weekend opening in history, raking in $41.6 million over three days. As of right now, it's earned $120 million worldwide to become the second-highest grossing picture of the year so far. That's almost five times its production budget, which was a relatively modest $25 million.

Subby sucks

The point is, contrary to what subby says, the movie earned a lot of money, as it was expected to, that is why a sequel was planned well in advance.

Kevin Hart?  He seems to be in everything now, and I've seen none of it nor plan to because he sucks.

The point being that the movie was in no way designed to have a sequel, yet because it made enough money and passed some checkpoints on an accountants chart we will see a low risk uninspired virtual remake that will make `easy`money. See: Hangover sequels, etc.

I watched one of Hart's specials on Netflix and the dude is just not funny.

I saw it and they couldn't possibly have been more blatant with that script that they were setting up for a sequel.

As long as it keeps Cube out of the damn studio. The dude's first 3 albums are some of the greatest hip hop albums ever made and everything since has been an embarrassment.

Kevin Hart 2-3 years ago was really funny.  His earlier specials on Netflix were hilarious ("Seriously Funny", "I'm a Grown Little Man"), and I was raving about him to my friends.

But his latest standup, "Let Me Explain," fell flat.  Just felt like a lot of hype but thin on substance.  It felt like he already used up his best materials early on in his career.  He has a delivery like no one else's, but something's missing in his comedy lately.

Actually if you bother to read it was designed to have a sequel since they green lighted it before the other one was even released.

Couldn't disagree more, Kevin Hart is actually funny, Dane Cook has never made me laugh once.

This will be Hart's career version of Rush Hour. It will be over soon enough.

He always reminds me of the character Chris Tucker played in the fifth element, only more annoying.

I accidentally saw this movie.  It was not very funny, but damn that chick was hot!

I didn't make it through the first chase scene, also known as the first scene. Unbelievably bad.

No one comedian appeals to everyone.  Me personally?  I think Kevin Hart is hilarious and will watch a movie just because he is in it.  Only other guys I would do that for - Jonah Hill, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Jeff Bridges.
