And he wasn't too far off.

"Being on this team is a dream come true."

Yeah, after the other two "dreams"... Fark off, dude. It's not really "inspirational" when you keep hitting the reset button.

I think this story's great.  His dream wasn't to be a football player or to be a hockey player.  His dream was to compete in something at its highest level, and he's doing it.  I wonder why they don't have a shot of him not in a bobsled.  The image of him pushing his dad's car down the street as training is priceless.

People always say things like "maybe a person who would have been the best baseball player to ever exist never tried to play", and i think thats 100x true for things like bobsled and curling.

I think its (relatively) easy to be the best at something 99.9% of people never bother to try.

I have a female friend who plays hockey in a beer league with us. One day she just became a 'professional' at the Crashed Ice downhill skating event held by Red Bull, just because she basically signed up for it. Just because nobody else does it, she is now a top athlete in the sport.

His physical transformation included growing an inch? Was it Crossfit? I hear Crossfit will do that.

I think the most interesting takeaway is that there is apparently some sort of international bobsled league/tour. Who on earth would attend such a thing?

Cory's a really great guy who is legitimately thrilled to be what he's doing.  If he decides to go another four years at it, I really think he could be good enough to rival Holcomb at the top spot.

There's an international tour for almost all Olympic sports.  The ones for bobsled and skeleton is governed by the FIBT.  Luge is FIL.  Cory this year podiumed twice and really had a solid two-man season.  His weakness is at four-man, which cost him in St. Moritz.

I dream of at least 127 different actresses, models, celebrities, and ladies I've met. If I tap Giada De Laurentis, I'm calling "dream come true", even if she wasn't the first one on my list.

That's far different than a specific sport being your "life's dream", but I know your plight...

I thought "pump worker" was a weird british way to say he worked at a gas station.
