So, in other words, the Arkansas legislature is threatening legalized extortion of its own citizens over their right/ability to choose health coverage.

Do we need to send federal troops to Arkansas again?

2014-02-17 05:11:00 PM
Your focus on jobs is slipping.

2014-02-17 05:13:07 PM
You know, Arkansas, that some of the people who are working to deny you healthcare are up for election this year.

They'll see the (R) next to the name and not care, but point well taken.

I think that's why they're doing it.

Geez. I thought subby was putting words in their mouth. Guess that'll teach me to assume the best of Arkansas legislators.

2014-02-17 05:37:23 PM
Huh.  In this instance, Arkansas Legislature = Death Panel.

I guess Obamacare really did bring them into being.

So under the compromise the state can't tell people about their options, but would anything band Democratic candidates from doing it in their campaign advertising, while at the same time admonishing the Republican candidates for wanting to keep those options hidden?

2014-02-17 05:56:47 PM
pure. unalloyed. evil.

2014-02-17 06:19:50 PM
So, are they saying Obamacare is legitimate?

2014-02-17 06:28:17 PM
This is the Republican equivalent of this:

unaffiliatedcritic.com

They don't want to take away the medical coverage people already have, but they want to make sure that "Obamacare" doesn't get any credit for it, and wants to stop anyone else from hearing about it.

2014-02-17 06:29:55 PM
But yeah, both sides are bad.

Both sides can be bad, but one side can be WORSE; I'm not sure why so many people have problems understanding that.

I don't understand why anyone would vote Republican, ever.

Of course they are. Its just that dems are like a billion times worse because Jesus reasons.

Can we please vote these idiots out of office?

Laser-like focus on jobs.

Obamacare is so "horrible" Republicans force people into not knowing about it. Yeah that sounds totally honest.

Bigotry, xenophobia, and a willingness to destroy oneself in hopes that the "enemy" might be harmed in some way during the process.

There are:
- Rich People who just want to pay no taxes (this is the sanest of the bunch. Even though right wing policies actually hurt the stock market in the long run which is much much worse than having income tax a few percent higher)

- Middle class people who think they are rich or going to be rich soon and that other people (often minorities) are making it so they can't become rich.  (these people are idiots. They have no idea what they actually pay in taxes and are the ones who think when they are on government assistance "It doesn't count")

- Social right wingers (These people are usually religious folk that are scared about anything different. They were pulled in to the republican party because "for the rich" Republicans couldn't get enough people to win elections. These are your big "anti-abortion/gay marriage Republicans.)

Those cover basically the 3 major types.

Congratulations, you can have it but you can't use it. Well, you can use it if you know it exists and can intuit that you have to find form X/b19 in Room A113, filled out with three forms of I.D. and show your last three months of utility bills at your current address. But we won't tell you that. You have to bootstrap it, citizen. If we tell you that, we'll take it away. Because bootstraps.

Their districts are solidly gerrymandered and they're completely safe. The only way they'd lose is to an even more radical right-wing challenger. Is that what you really want? Think of them as a Dead Man's Switch. Welcome to the new world order boys & girls.

You forget about the poor who think the reason why they are poor is because minorities and immigrants are taking all of the jobs that they should have, but at the same time those same minorities and immigrants are destroying the country because they are all on welfare and are causing the country to go broke because of entitlements, the same ones that they are on. All of this is just to mask their racism and bigotry, and the Republicans pander to it.

That is pure malevolence.  Suffering may be necessary sometimes, but the idea that you are going to intentionally create suffering where no need exist for the lulz is pure evil.

For example, while it is occasionally necessary to go shovel snow off your driveway to go to work in the morning, it would take a sick farker to demand everyone be forced to shovel off their driveway every day, every day of the year - including in Arizona in August.

Except, it's your someone else's suffering is good for their soul, not the rich's suffering.

So, we're back to malevolence.

I'll try to put this in words you'll understand.

Sometime around late September/early November of 1960, this tramp of a woman named Dunham engaged in some premarital intercourse with a black man. No one knows his name, only that that he's lucky he didn't live in Arkansas, cause hoo boy, they would of dealt with him right proper.  Approximately 9 months later a demon seed was born.  We know it was a demon seed because this infant came out of the womb quoting Marx, Lenin, and Che while extolling the virtues of the Chicago White Sox and income redistribution.  This child was tucked away to Manchuria where he dabbled in the hippie lettuce and showed the locals how to play basketball.  Fast forward to eleventy plus fourteen years later, and despite the best efforts of real, hardworking 'muricans this man was annointed President.  He has since embarked on a reign of terror consisting of unabashed lawlessness, spiking the football, and stacking the deck against hard working, real 'muricans who would all be filthy rich if it weren't for illegals, gays, muslims, and liberals.  The Republican party is tireless in it's efforts to remove those obstacles but have met nothing except ridicule, media bias, and dirty tricks.  THAT'S why we vote Republican, to save real 'Murica.

In words the rest of us will understand.

He's black...

You and I see it as closer to malevolence but I don't think these groups see it that way.
