Well in that case,

you better tell those two morning show hosts they might want to get checked at the clinic.

Does Stacy's mom still got it going on?

Considering I didn't hear about it until this retraction, it was either a miserable failure or great success, depending on what publicity they wanted.

Tommy's mom never liked him, anyway.

It was all over many of my friends' FB walls. Those same people now want the DJs heads on a pike instead of some random fundie mom who doesnt exist. My hoaxey senses were tingling from the get-go.

I knew it was a hoax from the start.  Handwriting was good (if they had to get creative to fit it in), no spelling errors, no condemnation to Hell, nothing to suggest the writer was actually bigoted and/or angry in any way.

I was skeptical as soon as I saw the tie-dye theme. Most gay parents of boys plan Thomas The Train birthday parties.

I was skeptical and thought this was a hoax as soon as I saw the word 'radio'. There is no radio entertainment anymore, it's a bunch of commercials with a bit of filler in between them.

I haven't seen this one. I assumed it was the one where the autistic boy told his mom he didn't have any friends to invite to his birthday. That's been all over my Facebook wall and seems pretty suspect.

is this the default "get sympathy for whatever gay person" tactic now?
make up some fabricated note from an imaginary bigot condemning your lifestyle.
birthday invite,
restaurant tab,
etc.

if you have to invent oppressors, maybe you're not as oppressed as you think?

Leaving the phone number exposed did it for me. There was a similar stunt with "War on Christmas" plotline back in November. Published the phone number to the fake atheist teacher who got a student suspended for saying merry christmas or some shiat. My wingnut, outraged HS classmates were calling the number to complain, but whoever was on the other end was trolling them and giving dodgy charities for them to contribute to if they wanted to fight him. It was actually amusing. This one had all the LGBT people on my friends list going crazy. I gotta believe those 2 are going to get canned though. That's a pretty dick move that reflects on the station and parent company.

THIS. Before the invention of the internet, any class clown jackass could be a morning radio host and do the wacky news or the morning zoo routine. Now, they just look classless as well as complete idiots when they start talking about subjects they have ZERO knowledge of as if they witnessed it firsthand.

This sort of crap is just horribly damaging, it gives people opposed to civil rights an excuse to discount any and all bad things that are happening because a few events are hoaxes.

What kind of morons actually listen to drive-time fm radio? There is no technological excuse for it. You can listen to almost anything you want at any time now.

I do. I listen to streaming music 10 hours a day. When I'm commuting I like to listen to the local newstalk station with traffic, weather etc. Granted it's not the 'wacky clown-horn' morans like these two, but I still enjoy local radio programming for a 20 minute break on both sides of my work day.

My BS meter was only half spiked being I have real life friends that have gone through tragic or very difficult issues and unfortunately fall for crap like this but not before their Facebook or phones blow up.

The morning show will get there due I'm sure. Meanwhile I'll go back to whatever it was I was doing.

I often switch to BBC or NPR just to get away from them. Boring and dreary is better than hysterical and chatty.
Unfortunately, both are usually out of range, so I listen to my main station, which is usually okay, but it's a college station and by that time in the morning the dj's are burned out, out of weed, and playing back to back Dylan and John Denver.
