twistedmetal: Needs more Puddles Pity Party.

What I came to note.  Same apartment, same back up folk.  Still a good arrangement.

I love guns n roses but I hate that song. However I liked that version

Meh, I didn't care for it. The lady has a nice voice, no doubt, but the band sucked balls. Maybe I'm biased, because I do love the original, but I didn't hear a jazzy rendition of Slash's opening guitar riff. 3/10

This could use a bit more of the original melodies, but as it's own song, it's a good rendition. NOLA jazz is fun to listen to every so often.

The arrangement for this was written by one of the collaborators behind the BioShock Infinite soundtrack where they did a ton of similar covers. Postmodern Jukebox has a full album on iTunes that is just amazing, especially their cover of "Royals" sung by clown giant Puddles.

Nice.

Now for their next GnR song they'll sing "I Used to Love Her".

I'm sure that lady is capable of an Axl-esque meltdown.
But, while she held it together, that was pretty good. Much like the GNR.

Why would you want gnr without axl? Yea, he is a mess, but there was nothing wrong with his vocals.

To add: I don't like Rush, but the fans certainly seem to like Geddy Lee.

Ahh Jazz great for when you want to turn a 4 minute song into 30 minutes of shiate.

*sigh*

Too bad the entire thing is a practice riff.

It's designed to be a PITA and hard on your fingers because its supposed to reinforce proper technique and proper pressure to hold the notes on newbs.

IIRC Slash was 'warming up' one day and Steve & Axl walked by and heard the little ditty and went giddy-bonkers over it.

Hint: it farking sucks to actually have to play it.

Meh.

I like the idea, but you really need to nail that riff to make it worth it, and they didn't. I liked the singing, sure, but I always prefer remakes about love songs to be sung by people of the original gender. People have this idea that a gender-swapped remake is somehow "clever". Well, it isn't. For remakes of other iconic songs, such as New York, New York, that's fine. Always nice to see a new take on things.

/just my opinion, man.

Which people? Top area men? Local resident?

I don't think anyone ever claimed it was clever, but not all gender swapped love songs are crap either. At the same time, I heard a female cover band playing CCR a while back and well, it was an abomination.

Dude, it's a string-skipping warmup - it's one of the first riffs I learned to play and you're making it sound like it's freaking Chopin. I think the original complaint by Slash wasn't that it's hard, it's that it's cheesy, that's all. I'm just glad they chopped down the use of it - there's an old video somewhere of them playing it live and Slash plays the riff for the entire verse, which was way overkill.
