Summer Glau's Love Slave: Some drunkard just bought me a month of TotalFARK.

Thank you extremely much. I will now help you hide a body. And buy you a beer afterwards.

/You are a god among insects.
//Which is a fairly easy accomplishment if you think about.

Sadly I'm sober.  No need to hide bodies, just planning on putting them in the underpasses of the bridges you design.  So design quickly, my crawl space is filling up!

She was River Tamm on Firefly, and was a female Terminator on the Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Summer Glau's Love Slave: Rhino_man: People wonder why I'm glad to have left NC...

now if only I can get my kid out of that hellhole.

I'm a 21 year old engineering student at a large NC university. The majority of my class (myself included) are already making plans to flee North Carolina after graduation. Many of my classmates from high school moved after they received their diplomas.

I completely understand your decision to leave. The job market here is incredibly bleak, and our politicians are openly derisive of education in any form. There's no future for us young'uns in this state. It feels as if Raleigh has declared war on the people.

/Sad, but true.

I was born in NC.  Military family, moved alot when I was very young.  Came back to NC at age 8 and was there until just after high school.  Joined the Marine Corps.  Got stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC.  Got out of the Marine Corps and moved up to Northern Virginia just before the government went ape-shiat.

Also, Jewel Staite and Morena Baccarin are at about equal hotness levels.  Both of them beat Summer Glau, who in turn beats Gina Torres.

Just so we're clear.

Engineering? You sure you didn't major in drama?

Idk how the job market is for engineering students so I won't comment on that specifically but there are plenty of jobs available in other fields all over NC. There's a huge banking industry in Charlotte, tons of tech, CIS, and education jobs in the Triangle, and probably tons of hippie shiat in Asheville and Boone. Maybe none of that helps you, but just because you can't get a job doesn't mean there aren't any.

You're young enough to not know that these things come in ebbs and flows. Even though a bunch of idiots are running the state now, they won't be forever, so no future might be a bit hyperbolic.

That being said, if you don't like it and you're that desperate to get out hey good luck out there. Hopefully you find that perfect state that has plentiful jobs and aligns completely with all of your political beliefs. Good luck with that.

What can't be overemphasized is that the political dynamics of this country are changing.  The parties are giving up on national office and trying to usurp complete legislative and administrative control of individual states.  And then they're doing whatever the *FARK* they want there.  Abortion restrictions, gun laws of both kinds, re-balancing of education funding, attacks on unions, regulations being added/stripped to impact favored/unfavored industries "appropriately", drug testing welfare recipients, extending unemployment/cutting unemployment.

This isn't an ebb and flow thing anymore.  There is a national push to segregate the political parties by state.  If we're not careful and it doesn't stop, we WILL fight a war over it in the next 75 years.

No.  I despise ignorance and stupid name calling.  Needlessly calling someone a tea partier is stupid and doesn't accomplish anything.

And in case anyone wonders, Art Pope isn't a tea partier either.  While he has given some money to tea party entities, his organizations are more libertarian.

It appears that you are not paying any attention to the actual job market in North Carolina and have missed all the press about dismal local prospects for all graduates including technology majors in-state.  NC State is even urging students to get co-ops out of state to avoid the local disaster.

High-tech job openings in North Carolina hit two-year low
http://wraltechwire.com/high-tech-job-openings-in-nc-hit-two-year-lo w/ 13395055/

P.S. - all the banks in Charlotte are laying off.  The total collective job growth in the Triangle since 2008 has been zero. IBM is laying off again.

While the job economy may go in cycles, it is the current North Carolina policies towards education and industry support that are driving jobs from our state to other states that are increasing the number of better paying jobs. University graduates are fleeing our state at the highest rate in over 50 years - they will go to where the jobs are at.

No, Pope is far worse than a Teabagger; he's a bought and paid for Koch Brother wannabee, and huge admirer of ALEC. Pope bankrolled many of the so-called 'conservatives' in the legislature that ran on a 'jobs jobs jobs' platform back in 2012, and then showed their true colors once elected by revealing themselves as social conservative religious dogmatists. The only effort they've made on the state's economy is a backwards repeal on taxes for the rich, while raising them for everyone else, cutting unemployment insurance, denying Medicaid and cutting education spending. The jobs they like to claim that have moved to NC don't offset the ones that have left, so NC still has a negative job growth since McCrory and his legislative good ol' boys got elected.

Art Pope is no worse than any other political funder and I say this as someone who lost his job directly because of Art Pope.

As for calling McCrory a tea partier when he isn't is not helpful.  McCrory is not an Andrew Brock.  McCroy is a big city mayor attempting to be a big city mayor turned governor.  So continue with the labels.  It doesn't make them right and it sure as hell isn't helpful.

mongbiohazard: Nice. Hey Governor Dipshiat - first of all we are under no obligation to be respectful of you. Respect is earned, not just given shiathead. Second, if that's your defense - to avoid answering questions about your possible corruption by pretending to be the aggrieved party because of so called "disrespect" - then that makes you seem guilty as fark. Third, asking legitimate questions about your possible conflicts of interest isn't disrespect, it's a legitimate concern of the electorate. Fourth, if your conflicts of interest harm the interests of your state then YOU are being disrespectful to the people of your state and that's REAL disrespect and not bullshiat, defensive, ginned up crap disrespect you'd like to invent to defend your wealth and power. Fifth, go fark yourself. Sixth, go fark yourself again - this time with feeling.

HEY, look here arsehole......why are you not on my favorites list?  FTFM, a nice shade of green.
