The crowd in this thread this morning is about as thin as the attendance at Sunderland. You stay-abeds are missing a cracking game.

No you're not.

I take the blame. I overslept and missed the start of the game. Will look for it online...

Does anybody get Fox Sports 2 in HD? No? THEN WHAT THE FARK ARE THEY DOING PUTTING MANC/CHELSEA ON THERE? "I know, we have this beautiful HD channel called Fox Soccer Plus! Let's not show one of the biggest FA Cup matches of the year on there, and instead show rugby! We're so damn smart!"

I have a similar complaint about my provider (FIOS through Frontier). I pay a lot of extra money to get GolTV so I can watch Bundesliga games, and even though GolTV exists in HD they only provide the standard def channel. After several years I've gotten used to it, but I'm always mildly tweaked when I watch an EPL game in beautiful HD.

Fulham now on their third boss, Magath. Seeing how Rene got them to play a bit better before completely losing it, I fully expect Fulham to play about the same before spontaneously combusting.

Sunderland is WINNING? I feel like someone should tell them the PL is a cup competition too. They seem to do well in those.

Bringing in a new manager always seems to give a team a temporary boost -- maybe an example of the Hawthorne effect. But some of these owners seem to be determined to own a Championship team.

Conflicted about the Cardiff/Wigan game. On the one hand my Cup instinct is to pull for the underdog. On the other hand, I'd like to see Zaha do well. As a Man Utd fan, he's the closest thing to a cheering interest I have left in this competition.

I'm rooting for Wigan. Tan must fall.

Sunderland is very close to killing off this match. That could've been 2-0.

It's a measure of how clueless Moyes has been that Zaha isn't cup-tied.

On balance, I have to agree with you guys. It would be nice if Zaha could have a good individual performance along the way, though.

Looking at Wikipedia, Ben Watson was the scorer of Wigan's goal against Citeh to win the FA Cup, so he's no stranger to being the hero.

I'm more concerned about the loss on Fellaini when Moyes' successor acknowledges that he doesn't fit.

I don't believe that story one bit. I believe RvP is looking to get out of United. I believe Arsene and Robin still have a good relationship, and that Arsene would love a top-level striker. What I don't see is: 1) United selling him back to us on the cheap, 2) Arsene paying what United would ask to get RvP, or 3) RvP taking a pay cut to return.

Not to mention that to a man, every single Gunners fan I know said that they'd never cheer for him again. They'd applaud his goals and be happy if Arsenal won a game because of Robin, but they'd never sing one of his songs. They've turned their back on him, because more than anybody else in the last 10 years, Van Persie left us exactly when we needed him most.

Langston: I don't believe that story one bit. I believe RvP is looking to get out of United.

Where do you think RvP goes? If Chelsea decides to (yet again) go crazy on buying another striker (instead of, I don't know, stop f*cking loaning out Lukaku and actually playing him), I see them buying Mandzukic from Bayern once Lewandowski arrives.

Maybe you should go after Mandzukic this summer. I can't fathom he wants to say if he loses his spot, and he has more skill and a higher work rate than Giroud who's basically a one footed poacher.

Moyes isn't going anywhere this season. It's been disappointing, but honestly United doesn't want to look like one of those clubs that change their manager at the first sign of disappointment. He'll be at the front of the club next season, even if United doesn't finish in the top four.

But watch out if United's season starts out disappointing. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him sacked if United drops points early in the season.

Agreed. If Utd sell him, it will be to some deep-pocketed foreign club, probably one with a rich owner who is not too bright and in a hurry to win.

Isn't AC Milan a mid-table team this year? I wonder if they go full-retard this summer.

So a PSG, Real Madrid level club then? I could see that just as easily as him going back to Arsenal.

And to Langston: I don't blame you and the other Arsenal fans one bit. That would be like The Kop singing Fernando Torres' name again. It will never happen, unless it's meant to be derisive after he flubs another shot.
