Until people try to outdo each other for the amount of blood they can donate.

2014-02-15 02:50:35 PM
So you give blood, then go pound down some liquor and get extra trashed?

2014-02-15 02:52:57 PM
Or you can drink shiatloads of vodka, donate the blood right away, and give them a REAL Bloody Mary, Dracula style.

Article would have been more helpful with a blurb describing what the hell a "NekNominate craze" is.

INORITE if only there were some sort of internet site that would allow you to search the vast number of web sites for terms provided by users. We could call it an engine for searching, or something like that.

Unfortunately, no such site exists.

Could someone please explain this new trend that's so popular I have no idea what it is.

CruJones: Could someone please explain this new trend that's so popular I have no idea what it is.

My understanding is that you drink a beer and then go on BookFace and tell someone, "Hey, you go drink a beer now!" And then that person has 24 hours to drink a beer or... not drink a beer, I guess.

FTA: NekNominate involves participants filming themselves downing alcohol, nominating someone to continue the game, and posting the video on Facebook.

Not a clue why it's called NekNominate.

...Followed up or incorporating a stupid stunt. Which is the problem and which someone died from. Not because of the alcohol, but because they jumped into a frozen river and died. BASICALLY, it is a Triple Dog Dare.

Now that I know what NekNominate means, I can never again film myself drinking beer in unusual or interesting ways. Oh well.

Apparently drinking peaked with "Hold my beer and watch this".

Actually, kids in Canada at least are doing it too.

Plus I have two separate groups of gym friends doing variants.

One doing a non alcoholic version... Basically for a particular charity just doing stupid protein shake combinations (buddy of mine actually blended in roast beef plus cookies...)

Another is doing drink a beer and do a silly workout (crossfit antics).

Just watched a Nek Nominate video.  I didn't think it was possible to get any more stupid than those idiotic challenges (for example, the ice challenge where retarded people burn themselves with an ice cube and some salt).

Because, in the civilised Anglosphere, necking a pint is a synonym for downing a pint.

/A 568 ml pint, in some countries, at that.

Unsure if this is a troll post or not, but I'll bite.
I'd assume it's called NekNominate because the idea is that you neck your drink and then nominate others to do the same?
You know, clue's in the name.

Has the world really gotten so boring that "I just drank a beer, now you do it!" Is a farking craze? am I missing something, or is it somewhat like "planking" in that there is no point and young people are idiots? I've got an idea for a new craze, lets call it "posting": I'll post a comment somewhere online, and if you read it, you have one day to post something, too. Everyones doing it!

I'm pretty sure that's just regional slang. I've never heard it myself either and had know clue why it was neknominate.

You could maybe even charge some people 5 bucks a month to do so and even allow them to gift the privilege as well!

And to me, "necking a drink" has zero meaning, though from context I guess it means drinking.

Yeah, it's a real shame that there is no way to understand how others live in the world today.

Perhaps someone, somewhere could invent a world wide web, full of sites such as search engines and blogs.

Someone may even invent an online encyclopaedia/dictionary.

Unfortunately, that's a crazy space idea that will never happen in our lifetime.

You have to have a clue that the base of the portmanteau is 'neck a pint' and 'nominate'.

If you've never heard the phrase 'neck a pint' then you can't google that shiat because it just looks nonsensicle and completely made up.

...aside from 'nonsensicle' what did I 'mispeel'? I'm sorry if I dare to mess up a word every now and then, but clearly it's important since you deigned to ignore it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neknominate

Nowhere in that entry does it explain the origin of the phrase.  It does, however, explain what it is. I'm giving it a draw since I wasn't particularly clear on whether the discussion was understanding the origin of the phrase (neck a pint) vs. the actual meaning of the word.
