I would LOVE it was Gojira, but they just revised it to a 4.1 earthquake below Edgefield county. Not that anyone gives a crap, but my friends and I used to go cliff diving in an abandoned quarry near there.

/I damn near broke my back. but everybody else was cool.

quakes are different on the east coast. The soil type found in the east transmits the energy much more efficiently hence a 4.0 in the east is felt much stronger on the surface and much further from the epicenter than a 4.0 in Cali.

It'll be THAT by tomorrow morning, thanks to the local news sucking at the Repuclicans teet (even NBC and CBS). Anybody wanna take a different bet? I already have 6 months of TF...

The United States Geological Survey said a 4.1 magnitude quake hit 7 miles northwest of Edgefield, S.C. and was felt as far away as Shelby and Hendersonville, N.C.

However, it was barely felt in E.C., and completely imperceptible in W.C.

Snickering anyway.

I'm in Greenville, SC, and was standing at the time, so I didn't feel a thing. My wife, who is Japanese (read: sensitive to the quakes), was sitting and instantly said, "Earthquake".  I raised an eyebrow as if to say, "No way", only to find out I'd be eating crow for Valentine's.

DUDE,  this is no joke, there is literally dollars of damage up in these parts! I personally witnessed two or three cars without tires on what I can only imagine to be what's left of a cinder block structure, as well as grass that appears to have grown feet tall due to this event. People have rushed from their trailers without shirts, apparently mid hair cut as only the front was cut short, in what appeared to be a drunken stupor of amazement.

???

OK, I'm used to being called all sorts of things, but being told I'm NOT southern, let alone a "southern yank" is all together new to me.

So, what do you propose I be called, besides a Fark neckbeard, etc... ?

I live in North Augusta, just a few minutes away from Edgefield. Definitely felt it, but that was all. No damage or anything to report.

I'm in Greenville SC and my first thought was "Oh shiat, minor quake!".  Wish I have been to Japan or China, but it never worked out that way.

Tell your SO, "Ohayo gozaimasu!" for me, in the AM.
