Sick goal.

The best part is the defender that turned his back as he jumped out of the way. Man up and take the hit dude.

That man's got a foot like a got-damn cannon

Saw a different angle on Youtube and you get to see the goalkeeper throw a 4 year old-esque tantrum directed at that guy... I was mildly amused.

Unless that 18 is more like a 28 that wasn't 45 yards... still a hell of a hard shot.

Didn't RTFA but how does an overweight guy wearing orange crocs kick a soccer ball/futbol?

Farking Deadspin. At least show the runup to the boot in your farking video snippet. Assholes.

Yet the SportsCenter Top10 is all dunks by 7 foot NBA players.....

Why does this headline feel like it's been written by "Malibu's Most Wanted"?

Normally I would say there is no way a proper keeper gets scored on from 45 yards ( and I am not sure I am totally convinced this is different) but that shot was like Gaylord Perry throwing a 100 mph knuckle ball...

That was a sick, sick shot...

It's hard to resist the urge to dodge something coming at you at that speed. He farking crushed that thing.

That's the soccer equivalent of dropping the bat right on the plate and leisurely trotting around the bases.

Not just any money....CASH MONEY, MOTHERfarkERS!

Yeah, I had to look at that and it actually came from about 28 yards out with the strike.  Damn fine shot, though.

Gosling,

That was the soccer equivalent to hitting a 650 foot home run that cleared the upper deck.  That was just sick.

I am no fan of MB, but that was just truly sick in the best way... Give the man props...I am certain he will give you plenty of real reasons to hate on him throughout this season...

Awesome goal, but I think Mario knows well enough that 10th place teams don't get to celebrate shiat.

If the article about the amazing play of the day doesn't feel obligated to mention the score, you're playing an exhibition, not a sport.

/did they win?
//did they lose?
///does a soccer game simply end when a ball finds the net?

This one did.

Ummmm no. For example, this has actually happened (and it's not like it's the first time).

You know, this article shows one of the few truly practical uses for animated GIFs: they're great for showing sports highlights.

IAmRight,

Sure, long range goals have happened in the past, and this one isn't "the best EVER!!!" but it was a pretty sweet strike by MB...

2014-02-15 07:37:24 AM
Nice shot. You still can't make soccer sound cool though, subby. So stop trying.

I'd love to see Mario B. and Lucas Podulski have a hardest hit ball competition.

Sure. No one's ever actually hit a 650 ft. HR, though, so it's not really the same as that. Could be the same as maybe a 450-footer (also rare).

At the same time. In the same game.

On the same team.
