To be fair, the first thing they did was assume the snow was a sphere.

This is Reed College. It cost 45k a year.
Good thing they did not hit the nuclear reactor....

just wait until those math majors figure out how to create an unstoppable force and have it collide with an immovable object.

If the owl had been in it, it wouldn't be the first time that bastard caused property damage on campus. When I was a freshman at Reed they hung the owl from the pedestrian bridge, and several hundred students (and a motorcycle) got on top of it to try to get at the damn thing. Next day the bridge was listing badly to one side, having been designed to hold approximately three people, minus pocket lint. They replaced the bridge with what looked like a highway overpass, which the students promptly painted yellow lines on. Administration responded by spending $10,000 to sandblast the paint off the bridge - but just the paint - leaving unsightly blotches of smooth concrete. Good times.

I'm still kicking myself for not taking the opportunity to get a license to operate nuclear reactors when I was student. Of course, there were two accidents in the reactor during the two years I was a student there, so maybe I wouldn't have received the best training.

Reed College? Didn't the socks they were wearing in their Birkenstocks get wet in the snow?

40 inches?  Weak.  When I was a kid in Alaska the entire neighborhood got together to make a snowman.  The lower snowball was 6 feet wide.  By the time we were done the damned thing was over 10 feet tall.

Cant tell what the wall is made of, but it looks like wood painted gray. So the snowball could have really mashed it in and if there was anything hanging on the wall it probably would have got knocked down. If anyone was in that room at the time they probably shiat themselves from just the noise.
