That music is so annoying.

BalugaJoe: That music is so annoying.

It's YouTube. I'm beginning to believe they automatically insert loud ass crap music over the top of uploaded video.

Why else would every single goddamn video have that crap on it?

2014-02-14 12:40:27 PM
Where's the amazing part?

2014-02-14 12:44:11 PM
That was great.  I'm no longer upset with drone activity in our skies.

Amazing?  Try boring.

This is the first, and currently only, video to make it to Fark's video tab so far today?

What a pretty little town. Whoever allowed that Brutalist monstrosity that sits kitty-corner to the courthouse to be built, should have been tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail. That thing is a turd-on-a-stick, in the middle of a lovely flower arrangement.

Shouldn't this person be getting a call from the FAA or something for endangering everyone in the city?  Or is that only in France that they worry about that kind of thing?

It's Friday, we are worried about driving to the convenience store to buy alcohol or is that only America?

So is it official now? Remote control helicopter = Drone?

It's not only Fridays - we go to the liquor stores every day here in America.

Not sure if you're being serious or if I'm just confused (or both), but I was referring to this thread JIC you weren't aware of it:  http://www.fark.com/comments/8142643/Teenager-charged-for-endangering - lives-after-he-made-a-aerial-film-of-his-city-using-a-go-pro-camera-at tached-to-a-drone

Pictures of snow?

Thanks, but I live in MN and have a window.

Snow on top of buildings AND on the ground?

That is amazing! Well, at least yawn worthy.

Just image if people had video cameras on their cars. That must only be in Russia.

This thread took care of everything I wanted to say.

1. That music sucked.
2. The video was painfully boring.
3. We should still be concerned about drones in our skies.

So in a way, this thread served as a drone.

Is an airsoft gun really enough to take down a drone?

So it's 6:00pm server time.

In 18 hours, only two videos have passed muster to appear on Fark's video tab.

One of them this completely dull video of a town with a dusting of snow on it. And who hasn't seen footage from a camera attached to a remote-controlled quadcopter yet?

Storm needs to step it up a notch or two.

Well, depends on the rifle. Mine could for sure, assuming it's within a 100 yards or so. .22 caliber that shoots a pellet at around 1000 feet per second. Hit the battery pack or rotor assembly on a 'drone' like the one in the video, it's coming down.

CygnusDarius: Why can't we call them robots?.

I assume because robots are thought to be autonomous, whereas drones so far (outside of science fiction) have been directly maneuvered by a human?

I dunno, the idea of 'drone' says autonomous to me as does robot, but whatever.  I get all my scientific terminology from the world of science fiction.  Any relation to reality is (usually) tenuous at best.  Dammit.  I want my flying car warp capable shuttle-craft with sexy holodec...  Oh.  I'm over sharing again.  Sorry.

2014-02-14 08:29:10 PM
In the video you'll see some of city's landmarks, including Decatur Square, the courthouse and Agnes Scott's Bradley Observatory.

I read that in Troy McClure's voice.

Do any people live or work there?

2014-02-14 10:39:51 PM
Just a suggestion, but I think what would make a device a 'drone' rather than a radio-controlled aircraft, might be because the on-board electronics handles the hard stuff, like keeping the platform stable, and relying on the human merely for general directions (left, right, up, down, take off, land). I've never flown one of them, so I'm just guessing,

Sometimes I'm convinced the admins Greenlight crap just so that we can butcher it. Let's see, what's interesting about this video? Decatur? Nope. A little snow? Nope. Nice sound track, good camerawork? Nope, Nope.
Please delete it.

People sure are excited that it snowed somewhere.
