I guess no-one watched the video. That was ridiculous. They were way to close to each other for this to be a "stand-off".

He even wrestled with the gunman for the gun for like 45 seconds. They look like estranged friends.

Hey!

2014-02-14 09:30:14 AM
all those cctv cameras kind of creep me out...

2014-02-14 09:34:14 AM
The "robber" placed his mask on right in front of monitoring cameras, stood close enough to his victim and allowed himself to be wrestled/pushed around until the coup-de-stupid. Either the guy was incredibly dumb, didn't have his heart in it, or really just wanted to go to jail.

Not possible. They are not allowed to have guns.

Nuh uh. ""As the CCTV explicitly shows he was armed with a gun, a terrifying weapon that he used to threaten his victim."

It was a terrifying gun.

Obviously he was a well educated victim.

What amazing is the CCTV has been panning and tracking him way before he even committed the crime.
Kudos to the 'camera' guy I guess. It wouldn't have been caught on camera. Profiling in this case worked! otherwise he would never have been caught.

I want to know, who is that person just bumbling past the robbery and does nothing? Can we get him a solid kick in the junk?

Christ that video is so British. The creepy surveillance, the drunk looking victim, the completely tame "fight", and the people walking by in the middle of the "fight". It could only be more British if they showed us how bad their teeth were.

This is why I went back to using standard old dumb phones. Nobody's going to mug me for $30 P.O.S. slider phone.

It's simple logic: Don't walk around with a $400 piece of resalable hardware in plain view, and you probably won't be victimized.

And no, I don't generally carry cash, fancy watches, or designer clothes they'd want, either. I wouldn't touch Dre's Beats even if they were dirt-cheap like they should be. I wear inexpensive shoes that get the job done, mostly because I'm not paying Nike a premium to advertise their swoosh for them, and Stacy Adams would be wasted on my giant, shoe-abusing hobbit feet.

In short, I don't do anything in public that equates to wearing a sandwich board that says "Mug me! I have stuff you want!" and I feel little sympathy for people who get mugged because they're dumb enough to think walking around advertising how much money they've got to waste is a good plan.

I still think the muggers are dumb brutes who exist somewhere around the level of pond scum, though. You have to be dumb to stroll down the street showing off thousands of dollars of merchandise, but you have to dumber than that to try to mug one of these dillholes in a campus, city, or country that has CCTV cameras everywhere.

Don't walk around in a short skirt and you won't be raped.

It's really not that hard of a trick to pull off; just don't be obvious that you're trying to pull a fast one. Simply looking with interest over someone's shoulder could get them to look and see what is so interesting.
