laulaja: Small Animal Ambassadors 3. after I comment that Bree looks sweet & comfy with tongue (!) fetched by valnt9. So does Frodo w/o visible tongue, as The Italian Farker typed just above,  It may raise hackles if I query if stuffed giraffe is called Marius? Another Danish zoo trying to kill another giraffe after poor young Marius was done in. Point was, they didn't wish to let him breed & at 18 months he was nearly old enough. Other one also called Marius; may have been contagious, tho other is rather older. There were 2 zoos who offered to take in young Marius; may have been EuroUnionZoos reg that they couldn't.  Or just bad-assery on Copenhagen's part; they fed their Marius to the lions.
Promised she the photog & writer to fetch back your comments, after showering her with e'd compliments this AM.  Regret Lawrenceburg Chev ad, too lazy to white or colour it out.  What she wrote follows next. Also regret perennial inability to scan & crop straight.

The stuffed giraffe is not named Marius, but Melman. My kids are into movie characters and TV characters. Another cat is named Bo after Bo Bice of American Idol fame.

catmandu: Finally some good new in the Catmandu household. I got approved for Social Security Disability so I will actually have something resembling an income. Money will still be tight but I won't have to rely on loans from family to get through the month. I still plan to work, but now I can find something part time that won't be as physically or mentally stressful. I am also hoping to get more referrals to do pet sitting. I can't walk dogs but I can definitely care for cats and small animals. One of these days I will remember to take my camera and get pictures of Ratchett and Riley to show you all now that they come out of hiding. Riley will even let me pet her a little (Ratchett still hisses if I get close). I go over there every other day while their hooman is recovering in a halfway house.

An oldie but goodie to make up for the wall of text:

gremlin1: My car is currently sitting at the end of my driveway, stuck. It's off the road so it's staying there until sometime tomorrow when I get in the mood to go out and dig a path for it. I really hate that car , don't get a Jeep Cherokee.
They are such delicate vehicles, the least little thing will make it quit. The main problem is my driveway isn't paved so if I get stuck I can end up digging a hole.
I think I'm going to look for another car this month, something with AWD.
[grmmmie.smugmug.com image 400x258]

That sux.......sorry!!! Be careful with the digging.

Offer conga-cats to catmandu on good sounding news.
I also got slightly good news, at least quantum_jellyroll, ArmednHammered & The Puce Guardian, plus anyone else like that I don't happen to recall, may think so -- finally got my newer Fourtune Cookie dual band hankie-talkie, the BaoFeng or more likely BaoFang, programmed by local clubmate during Tue eve rescheduled mbrs' mtg. Needs coupla more adjustments/tweaks, but this is first working one I've had since all the access tones went onto the repeaters (4-5 yrs best guess). Plumbicon found me a site that he put on my desktop for me, that may also let me Do Something with & about the bit-earlier Fourtune Cookie HT I never could get to work either.
For those who weren't in on 1st round, Fourtune Cookies is name of youth quartet from my chorus which can no longer compete because at least 1 of them is now older than Youth classification allows.
& also was lent Bigger Hammer by Sweet Adeline furrther upstate who's on regional contest cmte, to let me book a room for some of us for April contest rather later that I ought have. I'd left a comment on website, there was rumour floating that all rooms appeared to have been booked. All double-bed rooms, yes. Top-floor suites in Marriott right next door to Convention Ctr supposedly still available, but not for the Fri &/or Sat of contest. We've now 4 more chori, all competitors must stay at 1 of the other contract hotels or pay a $50 non-contract fine. This includes those who can't truly afford it, who need to stay where they live sted of one of hotels for reasons like care of cats or dogs. Have chorusmate like that, the EMT owned by cats, who'll be using room I booked to change in. Ought be able to arrange for her to "stay" 1 night there to avoid fine. Actually other 2 also owned by cats.1 of those owned dog who set her house afire trying to get snack from above stove; turned stove on & sadly died in resulting fire.

I have friends with a heated driveway. It cost a lot more than having a regular paved driveway but they think it is well worth it when all they have to do is flip a switch in the garage and watch the snow melt away, especially the older they get.

John Buck 41: They gave 1st shift at my job the option of not coming in tomorrow w/no penalty, though we have to use a vacation or personal day or eat the day w/o $. I'm a tweener; I work 11a to 7p but was afforded the option as well. I'll be playing it by ear. If it's still real crappy at 9:30 or 10 I'll call in. Wifey doesn't have that option; she has to be there at 7 but is leaving very early to give herself lotsa time.

It started snowing here around noontime but very little buildup for several; hours, then around 5:30 it started coming down harder and with MUCH larger flakes. Being so near the coast it's a crapshoot as to what we'll get (snow/sleet/freezing rain/rain) and if snow, how much.

Gonna be interesting tomorrow morning.

Everyone meet "Friend!" I named him that since we usually have 2 black cats who frequent our porch "Fluffy Black Kitty" and "Scragglers," and one day after work here was this friend with them, chillin out and eatin foodstuffs! So "Friend" he became. Sadly, a few days ago we saw him on the porch again and he was limping, his front right paw had what looked to be a small puncture wound in the wrist/forearm area.I opened the door to put more food off and he took off running, surprisingly agile for an injured kitty! Of course it's torn at my heartstrings and I wish we could take him to the vet. He's SO HANDSOME! He really needs to be an inside kitty! But we don't have a cat trap and I don't know if being trapped would cause him to injure himself more or whatnot. Anyway, this was from this morning, he showed up again and still limping :( I put out some wet food for the poor guy. I'm glad he can still get around well, I worry if he's in too much pain. :/

Here's the thing. I'm at the inside edge of a bay. A loooong bay, where a major river meets the Atlantic. It's tidal water, yes, but I'm not exactly 'on the coast' so any forecast I get has to be read with a grain of salt. Makes planning ahead during major wx events interesting.

Pineapples, gd luck getting Friend to Come Inside where he belongs. Gooshey Food may yet work as lure, reckon you'll see --  saw jellicle who visits here recently, outside, walking across snow that still bore icecap. Worried some on her account; she may actually live somewhere (hope so) & was able to be in when it was so awful.
Snuffybud, may be more like echoey than echoie. Spelling actually sometimes optional. Acoustics are why restrooms are so often used for quartet practise/warmups.
