Marcus Aurelius: I can't fap to this.
Theaetetus: That's disgusting, Sub- oh, you mean for tears or something.
Lonestar: Its a benefit to the cats too, as they are more social animals than myth would like us to believe. The cats love the companionship, make them more friendly towards humans, doesnt turn them into ferals. This way is usually used to turn ferals into house pets. Imagine living in prison, in isolation, in death row. Thats what the shelters offer the cats, they dont want to be there, and in some of them it may show in antisocial behavior. Euthanasia is not good for shelters, as they lose money when they do so. So best to turn them into social cats, and get them adopted.

Cagey B: I'm sure the cats appreciate being read to before their euthanizations.
Teufelaffe: Cagey B: I'm sure the cats appreciate being read to before their euthanizations. The shelter mentioned in the article, Animal Rescue Legue of Berks County, is a "no-kill" shelter.

Mark Ratner: Lets be honest here. The cats just want the human interaction. I doubt they can really follow or understand the book. They'd probably have more fun if you tossed them a jingle ball, some yarn, and a cardboard box, as long as a human is there, too. Maybe even turn the channel to Animal Planet and let them enjoy that as well.
Researcher: Can we get this from any other website?http://blog.sfgate.com/sfmoms/2014/02/11/photos-kids-reading-to-shel te r-cats-make-people-across-the-globe-smile/There, a blog from SanFran.Linking from a News Aggregator (fark.com) to a shamefully awful news(?) aggregator (jezebel) is just stupid... it's terrible.
GreenSun: Do the kids know that cats can't understand whatever the hell they'll be reading to them? Where did they get these kids from, some little fairy tale island where even the coconuts laugh?
Mark Ratner: I doubt they can really follow or understand the book.
OnlyM3: Does it put them to sleep?
