If memory serves, there was an episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent about a woman with a calcified fetus. And she was pretty creepy, and there was murder involved.

/got nothin' else

the rare phenomenon is known as lithopedion, in which the fetus grows and then dies outside of the uterus.

So where was it hiding?

In before the pro-lifers say we can't abort the fetus.

I remember that episode. The woman was also not exactly "all there," even going so far as to convince her boyfriend that the dead fetus had actually grown up and was a drug addict who desperately needed help. Christ that was weird.

The Mütter Museum has one of these on display. It is also the main image on their Facebook page (sfw I guess?)

EEEEEWWW!!!

The weird part to me is that she is so attached to it (or vice versa) that she doesn't want it removed.

Yeah, I think the boyfriend was killing homeless men for some reason for her. Hence the murder. It was a disturbing episode, definitely.

That museum is absolutely fascinating. I had a chance to visit a few years ago and is worth your time. It was practically standing room only, so plan your visit accordingly.

I agreed with your thinking initially but then thought that an 84 year old person probably doesn't want ANY surgery.

In any event, it's creepy as hell.

From Wiki:

lithopedion -   lithopaedion or  lithopædion - (: λίθος = ; : παιδίον = small child, infant), or  stone baby, is a rare phenomenon which occurs most commonly when a fetus dies during an abdominal pregnancy, is too large to be reabsorbed by the body, and calcifies on the outside, shielding the mother's body from the dead tissue of the baby and preventing infection.

From article:

As the International Business Times explains the rare phenomenon is known as lithopedion, in which the fetus grows and then dies outside of the uterus.

I bring this up because I'm pretty sure the way the article explain it is the definition of an ectopic pregnancy which is completely different.

Post baby boom to 1984 seems too wide of a definition IMHO. If you were born in 1969 and grew up listening to Billy Idol, I propose Generation Aquanet.

Someone who is 44 right now was born in either 1969 or 1970 - that's past the Baby Boom.  The Baby Boom ended about 1964.  So that makes them Gen X'ers, yes.  Older than the Gen X'ers we commonly think of, but still.

Coco LaFemme: Older than the Gen X'ers we Gen X'ers commonly think of, but still.

44 seems about right. Today's 44 year olds were in their early 20s when Nirvana had their heyday, 24 when Kurt Cobain died.

At 44 most people are pretending on some level that they're thirtyish, and the day they face the fact that they're not young people anymore is still a few years away.

...and just imagine all the loud public whining the rest of us are gonna hear when that day comes.
