pute kisses like a man: sandi_fish: pute kisses like a man: trying to decide what to cook the wife for valentines. lobster sure would be easy./ probably going with scallops.Please wrap them in bacon.i've been nervous to mess with scallops. i currently have the perfect method to cook scallops, it takes about 1-2 minutes on each side to brown, then I put them on a flat sheet in the oven at 200 degrees while I prepare something else. sometimes i make a beurre blanc sauce, or something else. sometimes i don't make any sauce. They are perfect this way. slightly browned, and never overcooked.bacon takes too long to cook. i am happy to cook the scallops in bacon fat (adjust time on the sear accordingly, since bacon fat cooks hotter than butter) but I'm afraid to cook them together. and i really love the delicacy of scallops and bacon has too strong a flavor./ cooking them in bacon fat could be an option, and i'll use the bacon in something else. like some smothered greens... which could also be cooked in bacon fat, so then, more bacon. which greens will it be? chard? hmm... if you've noticed, i generally think of pork belly as a great cooking oil. the bacon byproduct is a bonus.
macadamnut: I'm allergic to all that nasty crap anyway, so I wonder what people thought when every so often somebody would swell up and choke to death a few minutes after eating it. I also wonder if the Semitic food laws about it have anything to do with that.
