"Stupid" tag is for the poll's wording I suppose....or the people who take FOX seriously.

...or both

Soooo, pretty much nobody knows for sure what they want but they want something?

I think the millions of homeless and those who live far below the poverty level might have a problem with this poll. Along with those who are facing outlandishly high medical bills or struggling to buy needed medications at ridiculously high prices.

Fox News is evil and their viewers are stupid. Why, that's the very definition of Not News.

Do you think it is a good idea or a bad idea for the federal government to make policies that spread the wealth from the people who make more money to the people who make less?

LOL!

While it is right to question the validity of anything that comes from Fox, it's not like it was a poll on their website or something.

The Fox News poll is based on landline and cell phone interviews with 1,006 randomly chosen registered voters nationwide and was conducted under the joint direction of Anderson Robbins Research (D) and Shaw & Company Research (R) from February 9-11, 2014.

I don't know what the (D) and (R) represent, other than the obvious Democrat/Republican, which is a weird way to do a poll if that's the case.

I completely agree. I don't WANT the government to raise taxes to force the ultra wealthy to pay for the society in which they live; I'd much prefer the ultra rich not act like spoiled sociopaths and give to the poor directly. Alas, they picked the sociopath route, so I pick the Robin Hood route.

See, that's such a loaded question it doesn't even belong on an accurate survey. That can be taken in about a hundred different ways. Just because you think that the rich should pay their fair share of taxes doesn't mean you are advocating for "spreading the wealth", but instead more for a support of having people pay to live in a functioning society and not feeling that those making assloads of cash are contributing enough.

I wish I was drunk and maybe I will be later however I'm not in the wrong thread. That was a short way of saying: If a system benefits a only few why would anyone not benefiting from said system, bother to support said system.

Cletus C.: which is a weird way to do a poll if that's the case.

This is Fox. They probably polled a greater number of R's, or possibly an equal number which is still out of balance with the actual party-registration numbers.

It's sort of like the bumper sticker my BIL has "Spread my work ethic, not my wealth" which is a fine sentiment if you just leave it at face value.

If you analyze it though, it sort of implies that if poor people only worked a little harder, they wouldn't be poor. It also implies that he got to where he was with hard work, which is mostly true. It ignores however that his parents completely paid for his college.

It also ignores that while my in laws struggled when my wife and BIL were kids* making ends meet, the grandparents on both sides were comfortable. I don't think they bailed them out or anything, but it was there.

* in all fairness, my in laws did work hard to get to the point to be able to pay for college out of pocket.

Now, let's poll the WBC and see how many of them support gay marriage.

hah that's a great point, and wasn't he stealing it from the government to give back to the people effectively reducing their taxes?

Ironically, this means the Fox poll shows voters want to be taxed more.

That's according to a Fox News national poll released Wednesday.

Reality disagrees.

Simplistically you can say that but technically it was that he stole from the Aristicratic Lords and King and gave it to the surfs or workers of the Lords/Kings land.

They don't want anyone to take violent action against an illegitimate government with oppressive taxes?
