That'll buff right out.

Thas a big hole. It was crazy when the camera operator realized that the those dark spots to the right were deeper points beyond what it currently was.

Sure doesn't look like recent water action, more like a very old limestone cave system and the roof finally collapsed.

I wonder if Haiti has heard about the tragedy at the Corvette museum.

2014-02-13 01:05:23 AM
So, the drone doesn't have the ability to turn and look behind it? Or even to the left a little?

2014-02-13 01:07:04 AM
Also fun: security camera shows cars falling thru floor.

You're right. The museum is not far from Mammoth Cave National Park. I've spent a lot of time there. There are caves everywhere.

Exactly. Why even bother sending the farking thing in there if you're not going to look around? Bad subby! Bad admin! Submitting and approving this waste of time.

That was frustrating footage. While the holes at the bottom where intriguing, what the hell was going on over to the right where the white car was? It seems to open out deeper in there.
I want to see quad copters that can also land and crawl like a real bug.
I may live to regret that statement.

Sooooo..... they got the same viewpoint as if they just put a camera on a pole and just held it over it?

That was pretty damn boring.

Why are RC quadcopters all of a sudden "drones"?  Does that make them cooler or something?

Radak: Why are RC quadcopters all of a sudden "drones"?  Does that make them cooler or something?

Pretty much.

What's the name of that song?

Yup, right underneath them.

if you give them a designation it's easier to legislate them.

Came to say this. I hope someone was billed an exhorborant amount for someone to play with his toy in front of them.

I say clean it out and make a batcave

2014-02-13 07:48:28 AM
Ouch.

The museum said the cars are a 1993 ZR-1 Spyder and 2009 ZR1 "Blue Devil" on loan from General Motors; a 1962 Black Corvette; 1984 PPG Pace Car; 1992 White 1 Millionth Corvette; 1993 Ruby Red 40th Anniversary Corvette; 2001 Mallett Hammer Z06 Corvette and a 2009 White 1.5 Millionth Corvette.

I'm counting 4 that are unique or damn near.

I think that the 'drone' was sent in to determine the composition of the ground, which is why it held steady on that wall for so long. And then they also needed to know how deep the rabbit hole went.

LewDux: What's the name of that song?

I don't know, I'll ask Trent.

Apparently the drone operator's name was Morpheus.

Well that was unimpressive. Could have simply stood above and zoomed in and gotten better footage.

2014-02-13 09:10:50 AM
I wonder if they will ever find the bodies of the cavers that disturbed pearl like formation in that part of the cave.

I shed a tear for about 4 of them.

I thought the same thing, but then realized he probably doesn't have a monitor to watch while he's flying. I wouldn't want to hang over the edge of The Abyss either, nor would I want to blindly fly an expensive toy somewhere out of sight. Hopefully someone either gets a monitor or grows some balls.

The press loves the term, like "assault weapon" or "weapon of mass destruction"

So change the sign outside from "Corvette Museum" to "Cave Adventure Tours" and never look back.

You can build the entrance stairs right past the crushed cars.

He had some difficulty with the "take off" and "landing part" but the RC pilot obviously didn't get to the part of his training where he could rotate the platform to the left and right.

Some people are working on them  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRvsm1W-5Ck still need a lot of work though.

I'm wondering how much more expensive that would have been had it happened during normal business hours. I think people would have been standing right by the cars...
