British hot. And I'll laugh later if her daughter changes her mind and wants a career. Who makes these kind of lifetime decisions at nine?

My son William, now 11, is at an excellent prep school and is likely to proceed to a top public school (where we might just happen to find Matilda a suitable husband among his classmates). But the huge sums we spend on his education are not to bag him a wealthy wife. They are largely to prepare him for the lucrative career that will enable him to fulfil his biological role of protector and provider for his future family.

Wow, your top-notch education certainly seems to have been wasted.

did I hit a dimensional shift to an place where 1950's values are still widespread?

Damn, that girl's hiding a six-head under those bangs.

2014-02-13 01:09:35 AM
And here I thought people went to private schools for a better education.

2014-02-13 01:10:47 AM
Sorry about your mum, kid.

Low bar for subby...

2014-02-13 01:15:14 AM
Came for a 'hot blonde mum', left feeling like I'd seen the school librarian.

2014-02-13 01:18:08 AM
To be fair, Mum wasn't too bad in the 80's photo...

She's a lo-res fox.

2014-02-13 01:18:22 AM
Stupid... how?

This is how the world actually works.

Daily mail never fails to make me laugh with just the first pic in these articles

That is a rough looking 42

2014-02-13 01:19:24 AM
There's nothing wrong with a woman wanting to take care of her children, her husband and her house but this is just plain psycho.
I get the feeling the only part of her dream that will come true is the 6 children, unfortunately.

2014-02-13 01:20:17 AM
She is not british hot.. she is not ANYWHERE hot. she has a really horrible facial structure. I feel sorry for the poor brat, looking at that rat-face and knowing she is going to look just like it.

Maybe a rich guy with bad eyesite eh

2014-02-13 01:22:39 AM
Not even British hot. More like British meh....

Mom does.

Why is she wearing a sheet?

Why she got an erection? I'm confused.

British not. Egregious use of the "hot" meme. Penalty.

2014-02-13 01:32:59 AM
To that end, I have already enlisted a well-connected friend to draw up a list of potential husbands from wealthy families to whom I shall introduce Matilda at a later date.

So... I guess nineteen is going to be a fun age for Matilda.

They both look like they can count to potato.

British Hot Rules are in effect

Not ugly, but not hot by U.S. standards. And public school in Britain is private school.

Seriously are you guys drunk? She looks like a fetal alcohol syndrome mother farked a rat

She's a little young for a butter face, too.

Given the choice between a corporate career that will slowly crush your soul into dust until they lay you off without notice, or the idea of simply finding somebody to pay you to pursue your hobbies and who can't fire you without giving you half their estate, I know which I'd pick if I could.

/would help if I was more attractive
//and maybe more female

2014-02-13 01:54:28 AM
I guess freaking out and killing mum in a fit of rage over this isn't going to figure in.

2014-02-13 01:58:07 AM

fusillade762: Who makes these kind of lifetime decisions at nine?

Mom.  The kid's just echoing her expectations.

Oh, and at a $3k/semester school and presumably as exclusive of a college she has time and opportunity to decide on a non-soul crushing career if she wants.

You mean a career like... going to the gym a few times a week and taking the cock occasionally for the first few years of marriage?

/Sounds like a sweet deal to me...

2014-02-13 02:10:14 AM
This is what you do when you think your kid doesn't have the sense to not date slugs. Which is likely if this is what you do when you think your kid is the kind of person who would date slugs.

Just trying to break the cycle of poor decisions by throwing money at it. Hey, it's some people's best hope.

2014-02-13 02:12:46 AM
She had better run a TON of laps and learn how to siphon gas through 500 feet of garden hose if you know what I mean

/and I think you do

2014-02-13 02:19:07 AM
At around £3000 per term it's not a very prestigious school so she's likely wasting her money anyway. Places like Roedean and Cheltenham Ladies College are more like in excess of £10,000 per term and that's the sort of place you'd need if all you want is the right background story to get a rich husband. And nice knockers.

What part of the values being featured in a "freakshow" newspaper made you think they are widespread?

2014-02-13 02:24:27 AM
Too bad I can't sign up for a follow up on how well her cunning plan works.
This could work if the daughter has the sense to go for the biggest nerdy, dorky, socially inept klutz she can find. She better plan on Mom moving in the first day of the honeymoon.

I feel sorry for both the kids in the article for having this 50's mental reject as a mother. Really telling her son that he's basically a cash and spooge machine for his wife, and the girl that she has to have children and be Suzy homemaker (despite her own possible aspirations and talents). These kids are going to be farked up until they get away from that Nick at Night mental zombie of a mother. Hopefully some time in the real world and natural childhood rebellion will keep them from mommy dearest's influences.

2014-02-13 02:37:18 AM
If she turns out anything like her mother, good luck finding her a rich guy who will want her as a trophy wife.

Spiralmonkey: And nice knockers.

Given her appearance, the logical next step when she's older is plastic surgery.

Pattuq: If she turns out anything like her mother, good luck finding her a rich guy who will want her as a trophy wife.

She's not looking to be a trophy wife; the men have smartened up by then.  She's hoping to be the first marriage, which comes with getting a chunk of the assets when the husband goes looking for wife #2.

Oh, and the more I think about it the more I think it's Mom's dream, not the kids.  Note how in the description she explicitly places mom in the scene in her own little house on the property.  Where's dad?

Consider the source.

5000 dollars a semester isn't cheap, necessarily, but it's hardly in the "expensive" bracket boarding-school wise.  Feeding and housing the little brats yourself would cost half that, probably, if not more.

2014-02-13 03:06:21 AM
Being fine with your daughter planning to be a stay at home mom is one thing. This, though...

"Having children young, as she knows, is an option only if her husband is wealthy enough to provide for them. I am not spending a fortune on her education for her to become a young, penniless mother.
To that end, I have already enlisted a well-connected friend to draw up a list of potential husbands from wealthy families to whom I shall introduce Matilda at a later date."

That is something else. Methinks Matilda's quotes only come from parroting back what Mama has told her over and over. This lady would fit right in in an Austen novel. In this world though? Her daughter is going to end up dating an impoverished lesbian and getting a doctorate. Or becoming a stripper. Or both? Either way it will end in tears for Mama.

No, most of those are alive today in 2014.

Nothing wrong with wishing to find a spouse who will support you financially and love you. Just be sure you'll still know how to support yourself just in case you don't find the ideal partner. You might not be as pretty or handsome as that person wants.

So raise your kid to be a trophy wife? Good idea until she gets old and hubby trades her in for some younger arm candy and the kid has no fall back skills.

From what I know about Britian (which is not much at all, just the Jane Austen based movies I've watched), I would think that the expensive education counts towards skills like how to properly behave at a tea party and speak properly.

Isn't that how you meet men?

Or something ..

2014-02-13 05:16:43 AM
Probably shouldn't have had a ginger then.  Or named her Matilda.

Seriously.  Some variation of this woman's plan is fairly common in a lot of places and with a lot of people.

Yup.   There.

Of course they do. Mum doesn't give a toss what her children think or want themselves. They will live their lives to serve her desires.

biatch.

I hope they publish an update when Matilda starts drinking, flunks out of school, and runs away with her girlfriend.
