Did you know that many names were taken after objects? Dale comes from "dale", and English word that once meant Valley. I am not saying that it is good culture, I am just saying that there is precedent.

So  subby, couldn't be arsed to submit the link in the article that would not only have spared us from Yahoo's horrific page design and but also let us know that "Rambo" is not allowed either?

Still better than naming your kid "google plus". It would have a lot fewer friends than expected, and everyone visiting the mailbox would be forced to hang out with it...

Little Facebook is welcomed by his eldest brother, Reed T.F. Manuel, his sister Lol, and little brother Watt the Fark.

However, neighbor, Big Ugly Stupid Git (Mrs.) claims that the names show a lack of originality. "Remember, we Gits did this stupid joke first."

How about Ha Ha Clinton-Dix? This guy played safety at Alabama and will be in the NFL draft this year (just FYI).

I think I'd have to slap the shiat out of whoever named me that.

I dunno about the others but Iris is Greek Mythology

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iris_%28mythology%29

The iris of the eye is named after her as she was the goddess of the rainbow, to reflect the many colours of the eye.

In all fairness , haha is his nickname.

I worked at a pediatric hospital so I saw all sorts of names such as wienerles (pronounced wiener-less), king supreme james, Lil (insert name), keving, neveah (heaven backwards) , le-a (Le dash ah)..

Did not know that. Thanks.

Of course, parents can even screw up with relatively normal names too. When I was a kid, lived down the street from siblings names Larry, Terry, Jerry, and Mary. Also had a teacher with three sons, named Jesse, Frank, and James.

This kid will inevitably be called Face because my Mexican family tends to say Face for Facebook. It annoys me greatly. This is of course assuming he doesn't get called something like Memo or El Negro.

Oh, goddamned HTML fail.

iris: Middle English < Latin I-ris, i-ris < Greek Îris, îris rainbow, goddess of the rainbow, halo, iris flower or root, iridescent crystal; in some senses < Neo-Latin < Greek: diaphragm of eye

That explains why my state (Sonora) just forbade a bunch of bullshiat names.

The names include: Aceituno, Aguinaldo, All Power, Anivdelarev, Batman, Beneficia, Burger King, Cacelora, Calzón, Caraciola, Caralampio, Cesarea, Cheyenne, Christmas Day, Circuncisión, Culebro, Delgadina, Diodoro, Email, Escroto, Espinacia, Facebook, Fulanito, Gordonia Gorgonio, Harry Potter, Hermione, Hitler, Hurraca, Iluminada, Indio, James Bond, Lady Di, Marciana, Masiosare, Micheline, Panuncio, Patrocinio, Petronilo, Piritipio, Pocahontas, Pomponio, Privado, Principio, Rambo, Robocop, Rocky, Rolling Stone, Sobeida, Sol de Sonora, Sonora Querida, Telésforo, Terminator, Tránsito, Tremebundo, Twitter, Usnavy, Verulo, Virgen, Yahoo y Zoila Rosa.

/Why did state had to be mentioned like this on Fark?
//I guess it beats mass beheadings and whatnot
