That reminds me; I was going to stop by the LCBO after work today to pick up a bottle of Glenmorangie.

GIS'ed "welsh countryside".  Oh, those poor bastards, however do they manage to cope?

Interesting article in the Toronto Star today from the head of the Beer Store. He was whining that if Wynne allowed competition, that is selling beer in smaller stores, it would somehow drive the price up.

I found a liquor store near Shreveport selling liquored up daiquiris right out of the machine. Ya'll got some different notions about responsible drinking if you're selling product that needs to be consumed on the way home.

Why do people keep concerning themselves with the "bad habits" of people over the ages of 60? As long as their vices don't involve getting behind the wheel of a car, who gives a damn? What, are their children going to suffer? Might have messed up babies? Their careers going downhill? Going to get some terminal illness that they get to race to the finish line? What possible reason could we have to give a sh*t what a bunch of people do to pass the relatively short time until their death?

Wait, they're saying that like it's a problem.  They should mind their own (hic) business.  You would drink too, if you lived in a land where no one really knows how to pronounce the name of the town they born in.

Its technically only physically possible to pronounce Welsh correctly after at least one bottle of whiskey..some town names require an additional bottle.

How big is the bottle?

These people are already old.  Let them drink.  If they want to spend their last years indulging themselves then I think they've earned the right simply be living as long as they have.  If you don't care about morality and are only interested in numbers, then consider a bunch of people dying from liver failure in their 60s and 70s will inevitably cost less for hospitals than old people dying from everything else in their 80s.

Gotta do something after you've shagged every sheep on the island a few dozen times each.

Yeah, quote a guy who killed himself because he got rich & famous.

As for the headline, assuming "a bottle" is 750 ml of 40% ethanol, either Wales sucks much more than Kentucky or I'm a frigging lightweight.

That was the joke. It was really Abe Lincoln who said that.

You know, I was thinking of giving it all away to a registered charity.

All I need is a pint a day.

It's not that bad, unless you are a sheep.
