rkiller1: gshepnyc: btfoom: I can't understand how so many folks just don't get the issue. They are ILLEGALLY in this country, period. No one said they can't come in, just have to do it legally. You are one of the people you are talking about who doesn't get the issue. You may think you do. You may work yourself into a lather over it. But you very clearly do not understand it.Serious question: please explain how he just doesn't get "the issue?" Is it possible you two are talking about different issues? You want human dignity for all, and he wants laws equally applied? Is equality the issue or something else?

No one said they can't come in, just have to do it legally. They can't do it legally. It's simply not possible. So yeah, you can count yourself among those who just don't get the issue. You are wrong. There is a process for everyone who wants to come here. On the other hand, if they're criminals, looking to escape justice in their own country, that may make it hard...And the process is long and expensive for most cases.Yeah, that's so we don't get overrun. How many countries are easier to immigrate to than the USA? Should we just keep letting anyone and everyone who wants to flow in until we're an overpopulated 3rd world shiathole? The process is more geared to make money for the state department.I am a natural born US citizen who also holds citizenship with Colombia and Panama.I met my wife in Colombia and we were married.I had to provide what amounted to a 50 page document with affidavits, letters, photos, emails, copies of phone bills, and a ton of other "evidence" to prove she is not a mail order bride. Despite the proof that we were married and lived as man and wife in another country. She had to go through a medical exam and an very personal interview to get into the country. It took a year and a half about cost me about 6k total. I was to the point of flying her to Puerto Rico and buying her a birth certificate there. There are plenty of people who have the means, education, and work ethic to come over but they get the interview and are denied, but they are out of the fees.I am all for legal immigration, but for the good people trying to come over the process is ridiculous. And the Third Worldization of the US is not because of the immigrants, but the fault of the corporations and the almost non existent middle class these days.
