Can AZ get its own tag like Florida yet?

Silly? Really, subby? Sounds pretty farking appropriate to me.

/could be wrong, tho...dnrtfa

If you're spending your time passing legislation like this, then you obviously don't have enough work to do. Come with me. We're going to find you a mop. I'm sure the janitor would love some help mopping out the bathrooms.

I can't understand how so many folks just don't get the issue.

They are ILLEGALLY in this country, period.  No one said they can't come in, just have to do it legally.

Well now that's just really a dick move.

btfoom: I can't understand how so many folks just don't get the issue.

They get it, but it doesn't help their cause, so they throw a bunch of FUD about racism and being anti-immigration instead of confronting that fact.

cause allowing personal dignity is too much to ask?

What do you gift to a POS, Alex?

But if they outlaw illegal immigrants using public toilets, then only outlaw illegal immigrants will use public toilets!

FTA: "for anyone who's in Arizona illegally to use any public resource."

Maybe the "Latino activists" need to pick a country to be apart of and stick with it.

What if they have to go really bad?

Christ, what an asshole.

Can they still use the bathrooms at work provided by their conservatives bosses?

Yeah, I'm about as anti-illegal alien as they come and I think this is a dick move.  Not allowing illegal aliens to use the restroom?  That's just...come on!

They can't do it legally.  It's simply not possible.

So yeah, you can count yourself among those who just don't get the issue.

Bleh.  Stupid reading.  Yeah, this is the activists' interpretation that it would "include" public toilets.  I'm not too hip on illegal aliens getting tuition paid by public coffers (or even in-state rates).  The toilet is just...silly, yes.

No person is illegal!

Seel has admitted his bill isn't likely to pass. In fact, it hasn't even been assigned to a committee for a hearing, which is the first step in moving any bill toward a vote. However, Seel said he felt the need to introduce it to make a statement.

So basically you are collecting a generous salary, healthcare and pension plan courtesy of taxpayer dollars AND tying up public resources just to be an obnoxious sh*thead.

Do they still have the far-right types making noise? Yep. But the left has as many blithering idiots in political power. The major portion of both parties is still fairly moderate.

Not really, no. It's a civil matter, not a criminal one, so the solution is to get them in the system or deport them, depending on the circumstances. They should be held liable for criminal actions they do perform while here, but otherwise, no, they aren't committing crimes just by existing.

here to help: Republicans LOVE "illegal" immigrants. They are a workforce that can be paid slave wages, have absolutely no bargaining leverage to change anything, can't vote against them and act as a bogeyman to scare cranky, stupid old white people who can vote FOR them.

This.

Immigration is just like Abortion for the Republicans. It's a an issue they use to bash Democrats in order to get elected. They don't give a shiat about either of those two except for political purposes. Otherwise, they would have tried to fix/stop them when they controlled Congress and the White House. Just like they've tried to repeal the ACA 40+ times. It's all show and it's done in an attempt to get elected. Fark the GOP and it's ignorant ass supporters.

2. Florida right wingers make it illegal for homeless people to use blankets.
3. Maine right winger Gov. opposes life saving drug because he doesn't like the people who would get it.
4. Kansas right wingers in the state house press to make it legal to discriminate against gay people.

Conservatives deserve every bit of hate they get aimed at them. There is just no way to accept a political movement that has so given itself over to the joyful infliction of needless cruelty. No farking wonder they have to make voting harder. Cheating is the only option they will have left.

When a group gets this noisy with outlandish behavior, you have to believe they're considering other factors.  What they are, who knows.  Perhaps by conceding to debt ceiling changes, they believe they're owed favors and this is what they all came up with?  Perhaps they have no intention of passing these crazy laws but are priming their liberal counterparts to concede to something less crazyballs?

You did not need to get a visa prior going to France, all you needed was a passport.  Even if a Mexican has a passport they have to get a visa.

Here is a list of countries that can come to the US without a visa.

lol... WTF are you talking about? Why the hell would a democrat vote for any of those guys? They're f*cking DEMOCRATS!

Did you mean "liberal" or "left leaning moderate"?

Still though, I respect McCain and I think he could have done a decent job IF he wasn't tied to that god awful party. A perfect example of the man's principles shining through despite his marching orders was when he denounced the "Aey-rab" statement from that crazy lady. But he went right along with it up until then. He obviously knew it was wrong but did it anyway and when his conscious couldn't deal with it he spoke out at the worst possible time. And what did he get for his honesty? Booed... by his OWN SUPPORTERS!!!

Romney was just evil incarnate. There was absolutely nothing good about that guy and every time he spoke it was like he was talking down to everyone like the smarmy POS he is. He only cares about himself and made it perfectly clear he only holds contempt for anyone not with his own social strata. The sad part is the republican base are so blinded with hatred and ignorance they did not recognize this... and that is the scariest part of all.

The republicans need a complete overhaul and frankly I would LOVE to see that happen because their current insanity is allowing the so called "leftist" party move further and further right and tossing more and more resources at big business and nefarious authoritarian bullsh*t.

This is turning things into a ONE party system and THAT is f*cked. Completely f*cked.

So yeah, you can count yourself among those who just don't get the issue.

I've worked with lots of people here (in the US) on visas.  It's not impossible.  It may be difficult, but in either case -- difficult or impossible -- so be it.  It's not like there's some inalienable right to move to whatever country you feel like moving to.  If you disagree or feel the system is too restrictive, then (through your representatives in Congress) change the law.

Of course not.  For one, bathrooms weren't the focus of the law in TFA, they're just an example of the most extreme possible interpretation of the law.  The real idea is probably more like a marijuana "tax" in states where it's illegal anyway -- i.e., it's a law designed to tack an additional charge on a person who is arrested for some other reason.

Eh, I'd have been fine with him doin' the help, apart from the huge gaping hole it blows in the moral value of workplace sexual harassment laws (it's never an equal power dynamic when your boss gets some from you). Perjury after being caught was stupid. Not worth removing him over, the stain on his historical record is enough (and doesn't come out at the dry cleaners either). Frankly I think the only way to solve the Mexico problem is to make Mexico a better place to live. Not an easy task at this point. One way would be to completely end the WOD, and as much as I hate hard drugs, legalize, regulate and distribute/tax the drugs that have made it so damned dangerous to live in Mexico lately. But not just that... consider this. Perhaps it's time to simply make Mexico an honorary state and get the standard of living up down there. I mean for all the money spent fighting illegals and all the ridiculous problems created by the corrupt government down there just annex them already. There is a much easier to contain geographic choke point between central america and south america so focus on that instead. A huge section of the US populace are Mexican now anyway and I'm not saying break the border wide open but they could seriously use a hand with all that narco sh*t, education, healthcare, etc and having US oversight into the goings on of their gov would really likely solve a lot of problems down there. Of course they'd have to be into it but man... how could they NOT want a US backed Mexico instead of this piddly ass nonsense and antagonism.

Just make it a better place to live without destroying the country/culture and I'm sure you'll have a hell of a lot less people willing to risk their lives/freedom trying to get into the states. They could be the browner, spicier Canada.

None of those qualities are good for a politician but after reading this piece, plus the previous FARK piece about Pensacola, Florida making it illegal for the homeless to use blankets or any form of protective covering to keep warm, I'm starting to think it's dangerously wide spread.

Just look at the squabble between Congress and President Clinton that culminated in global ridicule and now Congress and President Obama -- making this congress the most do-nothing sitting congress in history.

There are more important things to take care of -- like the cuts in social services for the poor, cuts in food stamps, the forever rising costs of medical care and the curiously rapidly growing rift between rich and poor.

Besides, wipe out the illegal immigrant population and watch your food prices double as farmers have to pay real wages to real Americans to do the harvests. What will landlords do when they can't rent their apartments designed for 5 people to 20 Illegals at twice the price? They might even have to spend money to make costly repairs.

You think the lawn company who does your grass monthly is expensive now, just wait until they have to replace any Illegals with Genuine Americans.

here to help: Perhaps it's time to simply make Mexico an honorary state and get the standard of living up down there.

Mostly culture and pride, which is understandable, but geez folks, a good idea is still a good idea regardless of the color or nation of it's origin.

Rik01: plus the previous FARK piece about Pensacola, Florida making it illegal for the homeless

I missed that. I live in the farking Heart of Dixie (which makes me a godless liberal pinko commie here) and the folks here still view Pensacola as a potato farm with nice beaches.

We can't even get Puerto Rico's standard of living up to Mississippi level after all this time, how are we going to do that with a country the size of Mexico. The size of the border is not the problem, the real problem is lack of interior enforcement which draws people to the border. If people knew they couldn't find jobs and had a non-astronomical chance of being deported once they got into the U.S. not as many would come over.

Boojum2k: Eh, I'd have been fine with him doin' the help, apart from the huge gaping hole it blows in the moral value of workplace sexual harassment laws (it's never an equal power dynamic when your boss gets some from you). Perjury after being caught was stupid. Not worth removing him over, the stain on his historical record is enough (and doesn't come out at the dry cleaners either). At the time, I'm not sure which Democrat would have been a more prominent candidate than Al Gore, and since he didn't go crazy until years later he might have made a good President.

If it was genuine sexual harassment then I'd be a lot less forgiving but from all accounts it really seemed like she was the pursuer and knew what she was doing. Besides, sex scandals (unless they involve kids and/or unwilling participants) aren't the type of thing I care about when considering a politicians merits. The lying was bad but that type of attack was kind of unprecedented and really changed the face of politics. I think ole Billy boy and his team just had no idea how to respond so they went the denial route. Definitely a mistake but it may have worked out just as badly even if he came clean right out of the gate... at least politically. I think that was really the turn for the repubs from playing reasonably fair to doing anything and everything possible to attack the opponent.

As far as Gore... I never liked the guy. If he was any kind of a decent, freedom loving American he never would have backed his twat of a wife with her crusade against free speech. Considering how all that ended up turning out in the end and some of the filthy tactics that were used in the process it shows ineptitude and poor priorities. Still... would have been far better than Bush/Cheney what with their ridiculous wars but Gore was no where near the statesman Clinton was and he likely would have been a one termer.

Man, all this carrying on, and emotion.
I don't think it's going to change what's going to happen.

I'm all for cracking down on illegal immigrants.  I disagree with every republican policy except for the strong anti-illegal immigrant policy.  Drivers licenses, the ability to work, the ability to rent an apartment etc can and should be restricted to legal residents.  However, a public bathroom is a public bathroom.  Would you prohibit a European tourist from using a public bathroom?  Would you make them pay a fee to use it but exclude citizens from the fee?  Public bathrooms are just that- public.

Also still against the law if you're a CEO, again it goes to the power imbalance, you're not attractive for who you are, but what you are. It was dumb, and he should have (and was) smacked about for it, but not "removal from office" dumb.

And that is the discussion NOBODY on the pro-immigration side ever wants to have.

It's really pretty simple: there are more people in the world who want to move here than this country can sustain (economically, socially, etc.) - and if you disagree with that then you have no business being part of the discussion.  Given that fact, you have to have a process to let in the amount of people this country CAN sustain (per month, or per year, whatever).  EVERYBODY has to use that process, period.  If you get in, great!  Welcome to the U.S.  If you don't get in...sorry, but you don't get in, that's the way it HAS to be.  Now, if we aren't letting enough people in (every month, year, whatever)...then CHANGE THE LAW - BUT DON'T IGNORE IT.

I am a natural born US citizen who also holds citizenship with Colombia and Panama.

I met my wife in Colombia and we were married.

I had to provide what amounted to a 50 page document with affidavits, letters, photos, emails, copies of phone bills, and a ton of other "evidence" to prove she is not a mail order bride.  Despite the proof that we were married and lived as man and wife in another country.  She had to go through a medical exam and an very personal interview to get into the country.  It took a year and a half about cost me about 6k total.  I was to the point of flying her to Puerto Rico and buying her a birth certificate there.

There are plenty of people who have the means, education, and work ethic to come over but they get the interview and are denied, but they are out of the fees.

It really sucks that there is so much natural beauty in Arizona, because I'd love to just boycott that state to avoid being around and economically supporting all the dickheads who comprise a majority of its population.

They are ILLEGALLY in this country, period.  No one said they can't come in, just have to do it legally.

You are one of the people you are talking about who doesn't get the issue. You may think you do. You may work yourself into a lather over it. But you very clearly do not understand it.

Serious question: please explain how he just doesn't get "the issue?"  Is it possible you two are talking about different issues?  You want human dignity for all, and he wants laws equally applied?  Is equality the issue or something else?

They can't do it legally.  It's simply not possible.

So yeah, you can count yourself among those who just don't get the issue.

You are wrong. There is a process for everyone who wants to come here. On the other hand, if they're criminals, looking to escape justice in their own country, that may make it hard...

And the process is long and expensive for most cases.

Yeah, that's so we don't get overrun. How many countries are easier to immigrate to than the USA? Should we just keep letting anyone and everyone who wants to flow in until we're an overpopulated 3rd world shiathole?

The process is more geared to make money for the state department.

I am all for legal immigration, but for the good people trying to come over the process is ridiculous.

And the Third Worldization of the US is not because of the immigrants, but the fault of the corporations and the almost non existent middle class these days.

I agree the process needs to be improved and streamlined. I want there to be no illegal aliens by virtue of the process to get visas, green cards, and citizenship easier. Hell, even if we had a neoHelot system for low level immigrants it would be an improvement.
