(Washington Times)   Weed remorse: now Colorado voters are afraid marijuana legalization will harm the state's 'wholesome image'. And don't be bringing them dope brownies around, because they won't eat them. No, really. It's in a poll   (washingtontimes.com) divider line 133

headline:  Inside the Beltway: Marijuana remorse

article: the poll found that overall, 58 percent of the voters actually approved of legalization

Moonie Times is concerned.

Seems legit.

Wholesome? Not so much. Don't get me wrong; I love Colorado. I have a lot of friends who live there.
But most of the time, the first thing I think of when someone mentions Colorado is "mass shootings".

Maybe in a few years the first thing I'll think of is marijuana legalization? That would certainly be a step up.

I must be old, when I think of Colorado I think of skiing and cocaine...

Hey man, like it's a bummer:

Three generations of people are telling you to go f*ck yourself in your knobby, cupcake crusted empty skull.

CLANG!

Oh no, 3/4 of republicans think weed is not wholesome!
How could I ever possibly have not considered that when I voted to legalize??

2014-02-12 11:05:05 AM
All I know is that there was absolutely no weed smoking in the entire state of Colorado before it was legalized.

2014-02-12 11:27:43 AM
Wholesome? I must have visited the wrong parts of Colorado.

2014-02-12 11:28:36 AM
A Moonie newspaper is the last place I'll look for information about wholesome images.

When I think of Colorado, I thin of old rich white people who like living near an actual Mint.
I think of old codgers with hard line right wing ties that aren't overt about their racism, but they are famous for it.
I think of yuppies and DINKs with SUVs and fur coats sipping lattes and enjoying sweeping views of scarred mountains from their huge Anderson windows in their prefab log homes with well over 2 thousand square feet of living space. The new settlers of the American west. Salt of the earth. You know, assholes.

When *I* think of Colorado I think of folk singers in planes slamming into the side of a majestic mountain.

This.  Colorado doesn't have a "wholesome" image, so quit fretting, Moonie Times.

When I think of Colorado I think of mass shootings, so the whole weed thing is a real improvement to me.

2014-02-12 12:09:43 PM
Honestly, all it did for my perception of Colorado was help it shed it's "regressive shiathole with nothing going for it" image.

I'm honestly shocked those geniuses haven't made their way to North Korea...Kim would probably execute them on-sight for being usurpers or something.

Wholesome?! How about everyone had forgotten about you till you sold pot. No one wanted to live in your stupid state!

It's worse than that. If it's in the Moonie Times odds are the truth is diametrically opposite to what they claim.

Pot tourists used just be called snowboarders.

I will not take advantage of this opportunity to make a mean joke about how the Broncos played in the Super Bowl. No sir, I will not do that, because it would be mean.

I dunno.  I always thought Colorado was rad (West of Denver).

2014-02-12 12:16:17 PM
When I think of Colorado, I think of 80s sky lodge comedies. And Mork & Mindy, because it was set in Boulder.

2014-02-12 12:16:21 PM
When I think of Colorado I think of a douchebag who had it written into the Constitution that the state can't raise taxes without a popular vote and who still got convicted of tax fraud.

2014-02-12 12:18:04 PM
The moonbat times sounds awfully concerned.

When I think of Colorado I think of a place I might go for vacation to do some hiking and to smoke some good weed.

As a Coloradan, I'd like you to know, we don't give a flying fark what you think of us.

2014-02-12 12:20:45 PM
So, old people and Republicans don't like legalization.

I'm shocked.  This is my shocked face.

If it makes CO feel any better, nobody ever really considered the state to have a wholesome image in the first place.

The last time the Broncos actually played in the Super Bowl was 1999.

Washington also legalized it, and they smoked the Super Bowl.

He adds that only 17 percent of Colorado voters say they would try marijuana brownies if someone brought them to a get-together, while 64 percent of voters say they would be "very uncomfortable" riding in a car with a driver who has smoked or consumed moderate amounts of marijuana.

Forget the brownie question - I want to know how 36% of people don't care if their being driven around the the equivalent of a drunk driver.

Whenever I hear of Colorado, I think "Colorado Springs," which deserves to be burned to the ground.

I'm from Colorado, and you can bring those pot brownies to me. Seriously, since the first of the year I've bought cookies, chocolates, gummy bears, soda, tincture, etc... All infused with that lovely THC.

fark all the haters

Besides weed, I associate Colorado with self-important, libertarian cartoonists and school shootings.

Smoke all you want, as long as I don't have to smell it.  Back in the 80's my room mate lit up a joint on our apartment and it triggered the biggest migraine headache I ever had in my life... I ended up in the hospital 3 days later due to dehydration (I couldn't even hold water down).

Bad memories... keep that shiat away from me.

I'm not even a huge fan and I'm jealous.

This day and age anyone against legalization is objectively an idiot.

That's the part that got me. I don't think anyone has ever advocated for making toke and drive legal. I did it once when I was a yoot, and never again. Hopped in the car right after smoking out on a golf course after hours, trying to get to the Denny's ASAP. Halfway there it started kicking in. Kids are idiots.

Anyways, yea, that's a stupid question and those 36% are reckless.
