26-0 but they are in a weak conference, that's why they are #4 in the rankings.

No mention of SU with 23 in a row,  and the #1 ranking? Fail subby.

\Go Orange.

Definitely one of the more interesting seasons in a while. I heard someone say the other day that the Final Four is in north Dallas, and if anyone can get SMU (of all teams) there it would be Larry Brown.

I don't know if one these mid-major teams will produce a champion anytime soon, but this year looks the most promising.

Of course, when UNLV was a powerhouse, the world's largest high school won a title. So that's covered.

Wouldn't say the Valley is weak per se... there's just so much parity that all the schools besides Wichita are just beating each other to death. After Indiana State at 9-3 there's a five-way logjam for third place.

Except Syracuse didn't play last night. That would be like talking about the Florida Gators when mentioning the Duke North Carolina game.

No, the Valley is weak. Aside from the Shockers, the best out of conference wins anyone in that league has are Indiana State beating Notre Dame, and I guess Missouri State beating Texas A&M.

The Shockers are good and they'll make some noise come March...I might be tempted to put them in the Final Four again this year. They're better offensively this year and 'Dat Defense keeps them in games against anyone. They'll be in trouble, though, if they run into a team like a Creighton or a Duke, some team who can bomb it from the outside.

You'd be correct except Wichita State went somewhere Syracuse didn't go last year:  the Final Four.

They made Wyoming's defense look like SDSU's defense...

I remember posting in a thread couple of years back, about how the BIg East was the best conference in the country, how they beat each other up so much during the season and the Championships,  that it made going through March Madness very difficult, etc,. and got got nothing but crap from the ACC fans, and how when Syracuse joined the ACC it would be over for Boeheim as far as being one of the greatest all time, and how the ACC would eat their shorts, blah...blah...blah...

I would say Boeheim and the Orange have done slightly well so far....

Teams are finding out that going up to 'Cuse is not a very pleasant experience at all, with 30,000 people screaming at you for two hours straight - while trying to figure Boeheim's zone out...

Even on the road they are lethal as well, that defense is so hard to deal with.

We'll see how the Orange do when they face the orange and blue in a couple weeks.  UVa has played as well as anyone recently, and with the tough tests Syracuse will have in the meantime, if it isn't the 'Hoos taking down the 'Cuse, someone else around then probably will after they are worn down in that one.
