It's odd that something that powerful is relatively nearby and we think there's an energy shortage.

I think we need to spend more on solar power research.

It would seem to me that we would be better served researching more into the processes that power the sun itself and duplicating them.

At the Chabot Space & Science Museum in Oakland, they have an app on a touch screen and a big screen monitor attached to that.  Kids can apply different filters, zoom in and out and run through different stellar events as captured by the SDO.

It's so freaking cool
