High school?  Ok, but we're drawing the line there.

Teenagers in yoga pants? Should I have a seat over there?

The school admins do need to get their hive-mind out of the gutter.  On the other hand, yoga pants.

I was all prepared to be outraged, then I saw the words 'High school' and decided that I didn't care.

It's usually the girls not guys that wear them. Indeed the reason has to do with the...stretching.

That's because they used to be called leggings or tights or spandex pants.  There's nothing new going on here.

I'm with the school on this one.  You don't even really have the "but it expresses my individuality" lame excuse on this one, or the slightly more legitimate excuse that your dress-code violations are semi-permanent e.g. dyed hair/piercings.

You're just... randomly wearing undergarments as outerwear like a moron.

Seriously, the school is basically doing the kids a favor on this one by saving them from their children making fun of their school-age photos for eternity.

// Also...really?  A school policy changed referred to as "outlawing" something?  Are they arresting or lynching people over this now?

No. We need to be teaching girls at a young age that it's their fault boys act like boys.

"Baggies", were the pant style of choice for girls when I was coming of age (mid 80s).

Blue, denim, heavily pocketed,  Rosie O'donnell sized pants on size 2 teenaged girls.  Perfect for harvesting potatoes.

Throw a giant Bill Cosby sweater over the whole thing and that's what you've got.

High school?  Yep.  Makes sense.  Hell, they need to ban them in my office because yoga pants are eventually going to get me hauled in front of HR.  I'm a guy, damn it. I can't help but look.  It's programmed into me.  It's a primal thing.

The girl was bullshiatting anyway.  The whole point of wearing the pants is to get the boys' attention.

As a guy in his 20s, I love looking at most chicks in these pants. As a practical person, I have a problem with girls thinking these are actually acceptable as clothes for anything other than exercise. Whenever I see a girl wearing these in public, I'll announce "not pants! not pants!" at a volume juuust loud enough for them to hear, but they probably won't because they're too busy thinking about themselves.

Recalling how dry my high school years were, I am all for high school girls wearing yoga pants. And I sincerely hope there are feminist programs teaching the high school students about extra-enthusiastic consent and about being sex positive. I think there should be mandatory courses in feminist sex education for all high school kids, including instruction about emergency birth control, and plan b, and abortion rights.

It has taken me forty years to learn what kind of smile was hidden beneath the Dworkin's dark moustache. O cruel, needless misunderstanding! O stubborn, self-willed exile from her biting teats! Two gin-scented tears trickled down the sides of my nose. But it was all right, everything was all right, the struggle was finished. I had won the victory over myself. I loved Big Sister.

Also, I agree with this banning. Nothing, and I mean, NOTHING gets me harder and hornier than a woman wearing leggings. Holy shiat, the way the body (and all its intricacies) mark out is astounding. So seeing jailbait wearing leggings is actually doing me a favor so I don't end up in jail >_>

While I agree that schools should be able to set dress codes..  For purposes of this thread, I am pro-yoga pants.

So far, this thread disappoints.

Gigantic, bulbous asses are not attractive in yoga pants. Trim, firm, toned girl butts are what yoga pants are made for. Damn the hippity hop music for making people think chunky asses are desirable.

Because it was a generalized statement that doesn't have to take in to account a statistically insignificant portion of society and that PC speak that tries to cover all bases ends up getting needlessly bogged down?

Let me say .... as a high school teacher ....  let the damn girls wear what they want. One thing that I noticed: I think with the girls wearing them, it kind of made the boys stop wearing the stupid skinny jeans. Those things went out of style as the girls started going with the stretchy pants. Win-win.

I can't be the only one who finds duckface to be an instant turn off, and evidence enough that the girl in question is a 'tard? Your third pic.... jesus, what the hell possesses a human being to make that face besides rotten eggs?

People were making this same argument a century ago about women wearing any kind of pants (as opposed to skirts or dresses). Values change. Get over it, old people.

2014-02-12 02:02:47 AM
I have no respect for women who wear leggings as trousers without the corresponding long covering such as a tunic or dress that is meant to go over the derrière.

Yoga pants outside of athletic activity is as sophisticated, but slightly better looking depending on the wearer, as sweat pangs. It is lazy.

If you have a labial wedgie the clothing is more than ill fitting.

I do not wear leggings because I do not like them. I wear yoga pants to the gym.

While your answer was a bit... abrasive... I have to say you're on the right track. Sort of.

I say fight fire with fire. If the girls are going to be all "we'll wear clothes that leave nothing to the imagination and then get mad at men for looking at us", then men have to fight back! Like so:
ts4.explicit.bing.net

If every man started wearing tights, women would get a dose of their own medicine.

And as a bonus, the fat guys in tights would be revenge against all the giant 270-lbs women who think they can pull off wearing yoga pants.
