For a show with a budget of about 5 dollars.  I remember watching, and realizing that one of the "Merry Men" was wearing modern combat boots, and old, Desert Storm style "chocolate chip" cammie pants.

NBC did the Dracula show. I don't remember a BBC show.

Way too kung-fu'ish for my taste.

I read that as "Merlin" which was a pretty shiate show, though the guy playing Arthur was cute and John Hurt is ALWAYS Awesome.

a Game Of Thrones reinvention of the classic mythology

WTF does that mean?

Tits, sex and gore.

/Game of Thrones, like Rome and the Sopranos before it, runs on BBC (public) TV in the UK.

Toward the end it started getting ridiculous.

Like, they sneak into the castle EVERY F*CKING WEEK, and no one bothered to seal up the entrances.

LEARN SOME INTERNAL CONTROL, VAISEY!

TVTropes marks Kate's introduction to when it really sucked. She doesn't have a single positive character trope listed and she's a good guy.

Basically, the entirety of series three sucked.

Game Of Thrones reinvention

I hate this.

I really hope this doesn't become a thing people say.

Not even that far. They only had one plot, they just rotated who/what they had to liberate from the castle every week.

As far as the premise goes it could be pretty interesting. The Sheriff of Nottingham is the goddamn Robin Hood?

NBC did a dang good job I thought with it too.
Best new series I've seen this year. Unfortunately it sounds like the ratings weren't there.

No shiat. I have more trouble getting into my own bathroom (roommate) than they did into dungeons. And not just the first month.

I liked the recent BBC version, although sometimes it went way to contemporary for my taste. It's one of the few takes on Robin Hood that tried to explore the wounded warrior aspect of his character - the guy had made it through the Crusades, for heaven's sake. He would probably have been pretty messed up.

Robin Hood/the sheriff being the same person is an interesting premise.

In short, I'd watch it.

BBC only has 3 or 4 different concepts and they just rotate through them every few years

I just found it recently on Netflix (non-streaming, unfortunately).  It holds up pretty well, first disc, anyway, with the storytelling and the acting.  Still waiting on disc 2.

I am tempted to sign up for mail DVD's for it.

My phone is showing streaming links to Hulu, but then no dice after I click to read more.
