(The Raw Story)   Rep Phil Roe (R-TN) thinks it's unfair that Obamacare covers pregnancy cost because his wife is "fixed". Now I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure this guy just literally called his wife a biatch   (rawstory.com ) divider line

Since we all know that procreation is the only legitimate reason for marriage, I hope that the anti-gay marriage folks are all over this.

We need a law that bans all contraception for all elected officials and their immediate families.

Then you'll see this crap stop.

Also, he doesn't have to send kids to school, why should he pay? Also, he doesn't drive, why should he pay for roads? Old people problems arguments.

If we're going to biatch about our complete misunderstanding of risk pooling, why do we have to pay for his old ass? Can't he just die in the street like everyone else? I'm pretty sure his age group is the one driving costs.

Statistically, he's probably pretty low risk for Tay-Sachs and Sickle Cell Anemia as well...  I look forward to his next press conference where he complains about his health care plan charging to cover those too...

Every time I look at republican proposals to replace Obamacare, I find that it's nothing but a list of the giveaways that they have been trying to give medical industry lobbyists for years.  The is never an actual alternative to Obamacare.

2014-02-11 03:22:15 PM
Guys, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that conservative opposition to Obamacare covering women's medical care is actually NOT about freedom and volition, but more about imposing theologically misogynist morality. I know, its crazy. But I'm willing to stake a claim on this one.

But I thought they wanted the woman slut to have the baby.  Of course, an abortion is much cheaper than a babby.

2014-02-11 03:26:36 PM
Good point, Rep. Poe.  Hopefully this will inspire more women to have far cheaper abortions, instead of being moochers and takers on the system.

FTFA: I have been fixed. My wife has been fixed," Roe said. "Both of us have determined if we thought we had to raise another kid right now, we would jump off the Capitol, head first into the parking lot, face first. You got the idea, don't want any more kids."

Point of Fact: He has children already:  David C. Roe, John Roe, Whitney Larkin

He's not saying he doesn't want to procreate. He's saying he's already done enough. Now his health insurance plan probably covers vaso-vasotomies (reverse vasectomies) too. He might want one tomorrow if he leaves his wife for some sort of blonde big-titted whore. Let's be clear about what is being criticized.

Lots of people have kids they don't want.

EvilEgg: Lots of people have kids they don't want.

Agreed. I'm not defending the douchebag--I'm just trying to correct the assumption in other posts that he doesn't procreate.  His wife may have had her tubes tied, but she still might have some interest in gynecological coverage. He'll want urological coverage as well even though he's had a vasectomy. People get cancer of the baby-making parts too long after sterilization.

There is no war on women, we just don't want the whores to have any control over when and how they procreate, and we don't want to pay for it when they do.

Not only is his wife fixed but his limber Dominican pool boy is very healthy and doesn't need health coverage either.

If both loves of his life don't need health insurance, why shouldn't this guy be able to spend that money the way he chooses--on lube and sancocho?

Typical Republican projection.

Also, selling insurance across state lines is pretty ineffective at decreasing the number of the uninsured. Last time the CBO looked at a plan that included that, they concluded it would reduce the number of uninsured by 3 million people. Over 10 years.

I bet it also covers treatment for emphysema, whether or not you're a smoker.  I'm sure it also covers skin cancer treatment even if you're a cave dweller.

But let's look at reality here, Representative Roe: insurance providers not covering pre-natal and birthing care for women drives down their participation in those very-valuable treatment.  This leads to diminished outcomes for their kids from a health and development standpoint, and may even drive up costs in the long term by delaying the identification of gestational health problems.

The only reason for both partners to be fixed is that there is more than two people in the bed.

2014-02-11 04:01:35 PM
This is one of the fundamental flaws in Republican thinking. They TRULY can not grasp that some laws might help people who are not like them.

For example:   "I was against gay marriage before my son came out" or "I was FOR harsh sentences for drug users before MY kid got busted"

It some sort of institutionalsociopathy.

Waitjustachickenfarkingminute.

I thought the GOP's answer to the question of "We don't want to have babies" was "LOL then don't have sex". Are they reversing that position? Is Mrs Reprehensible Position incapable of closing her legs, even with a krazy-glued aspirin?
