Just when you thought Fox couldn't get any lower...

Your Sam wants Frodo.

Hahahahahaha. I'll watch it. I have faith in fox to create hilarious reality tv, the first few weeks of American Idol and all of Joe Millionaire (the real one) are/were some of the best stuff on tv.

You know, I have a lot more respect for the "Little People of America" now.

If they're willing to display such a logical and mature reaction to such blatant exploitation in the hopes that they might be portrayed in a remotely positive manner, then more power to them.

Mad props, seriously. Members of LPA, we at Fark welcome you!

Wow, those elfquest elves are scary. Anyway, will there be tossing of said dwarves on said show?

Still no love for the Kender...

Exploitation is great and totally American, but these potentially hilarious reality shows always turn out to be sappy. Best example is Joe Millionaire which turned into a sappy "fairy tale" with corny love music. I want shameless exploitation, dammit.

2004-01-30 02:42:39 AM
I hope I get to date an elf!

2004-01-30 02:50:20 AM
I will watch-- but only if I get to see some dwarf tossing.

2004-01-30 02:51:13 AM
Screw a dating show, Midget Olympics is what it's all about. There are very view sight gags I find funnier than a midget running.

Is that hobbit making out with that dwarve...Cuz if he is...

2004-01-30 02:57:30 AM
I just saw something on !E about the Little People of America being all upset about this show.

2004-01-30 03:00:15 AM
Spacemarinekilla: I hate you. You are my problem. Plese never show your face around my neighborhood. If you have a Neilsen box, I'm going to blow it up.

Unless you were being sarcastic. Nah, I still hate you.

2004-01-30 03:00:15 AM
very view sight

that's supposed to be "few"

...I'm an idiot

2004-01-30 03:01:12 AM

Little people?? GIS time!

2004-01-30 03:08:22 AM
I can't believe I'm saying this but I agree with Spacemarinekilla when it comes to the first few shows of American Idol.
As someone who despises everything about reality television and the people who watch it, there are few things more enjoyable in life than seeing a bunch of pop star wanna-be losers with actually less than zero talent, make complete fools of themselves on national television.
Even better when they break down in tears because they were told that they're "bloody awful" and yet they keep on trying to sing.
And I keep on laughing my ass off even though my, and the rest of the viewers ears, are howling in protest.
Damn, that is funny and sometimes immensely satisfying.

2004-01-30 03:13:20 AM
I wonder if the dwarfs on dates will get "tossed off"?

/possibly obscure Brit slang

There are only two shows?
Why so short?

biffman:
so is 3horn actually visiting you for anal sex or whatever and needs to use your account, or are you just patronizing him with the tagline thing?
just curious.

2004-01-30 03:19:46 AM
Exactly, biffman. Most reality television is horrible, unfunny, and not entertaining. On American Idol, for instance, as soon as they pick the finalists and they start practicing and whatnot, I stop watching, because then you cease seeing untalented jackasses having their hopes (very rightfully) shattered.

Joe Millionaire was funny on so very many levels. There was the fact that Evan was acting like this suave guy with money when in fact he was just some lucky jackass, and you saw his real personality in all the little interviews when the girls weren't around. Also, all the stupid bimbos trying to pretend they weren't in it for the money was such horrible acting that I loved it. If you couldn't sit back, watch Joe Millionaire and laugh at all the faking going on, I think you need to invest in a new sense of humor.

2004-01-30 03:24:50 AM
Yea Spacemarinekilla, unfortunately the initial audition rounds are all over which means I won't be watching anymore.
If there's nobody humiliating themselves horribly, I'm not interested.

That's not pure exploitation. Those movies my cousin Rufus used to do were pure exploitation:

Actually it started a few days ago on this thread.
It sort of caught on for a while in other threads as well.

Short tempers, uh... short sighted of Fox, er, uh.
Oh, weather's getting warmer, so wear shorts... ehhh... end of the stick, ermm... pfft.

What, like MTV's "Dismissed", but called "Tossed"?

/so, how many times do we have to mention tossing before it gets funny?

I don't think that this is exploitation at all. I live in Milwaukee and we used to have a "little person" working at a restaurant called Nacho Mamas. He wore a huge sombrero with tortilla chips all around and would stroll from table to table serving chips/salsa. Now if that is not exploitation, then Fox can do this show! Little people need jobs too and if they can make some extra ca$h, good for them!

May I link a Gimli quote?, or shall I quiver at the Jewish take over of a Kentucky website? Seems a few people have wondered why "FARK" aswent so 'leftist.' It ain't went leftist, it's went Jewish. True story. I'm from Somerset, Kentucky and telling you the truth, it seems some are wondering about ADMINSSSSSSS????? They are Jewish, period. If you think I'm lying. Post something neutral about the Pallys. lmao Hell ain't a bad place to be.

Yes, midgets are obviously only suitable for jobs which involve the novelty of them being midgets.

>As someone who despises everything about reality television and the people who watch it, there are few things more enjoyable in life than seeing a bunch of pop star wanna-be losers with actually less than zero talent, make complete fools of themselves on national television.

Except knowing people who watch TV shows that feature losers who get their 30 seconds of fame by pretending to not know they are shiatty singers and acting as loserly as possible. In this, they do a favour to producers who sell you the losers you're so desperate to feel more secure than, and the losers get the 30 seconds of fame they hoped they'd get by puttin on some sort of twisted 'Who Can Garner The Most Pity/Entertainment' contest.

It's win/win really.

2004-01-30 04:55:40 AM
Of course howdoibegin, they obviously put these people on for that reason.
I don't know if I find it funnier than the usual 'loser' that watches some sort of spectacle like that except for the fact that I've done a lot of music in my time and on occasion I have worked with someone who really wanted to sing yet they couldn't tell when they were missing a note. It was beyond me how someone could not tell if it was thatobvious to me. That's when I began to understand what being tone deaf really meant.
And to see that taken to the extreme on American Idol auditions, well I'm sorry but several of my musician friends also tuned in just for those bits because it's like staring at a gory accident at the side of the road.
By the way, not ALL of those people knew they were bad just in case you really believed that.

Of course I don't think that midgets need to have jobs where they capitalize on their midgetness. I am just glad that some of them enjoy their midgetness enough to be able to have a sense of humor about it!

Great. Freak shows. Back to the 19th century.
