He's reading left to right. Vikings wrote code right to left. Here's the actual translation:

"A moose once bit my sister..."

The fact that it was carved on a heart-shaped lump of preserved sugar should have been a clue

Well done subby.

well if the language had any of the nuances modern French does then "Kiss Me" might mean something else taken in context

From the comments:
I prefer to think of it as a slightly less edible candy heart.

I like that one. Of course, as much as I like subby's headline, the comment at the top of this thread is almost as good...

With all due respect to you, if you watched Dr Who you'd get how awesome the headline was. There's a hint in the title image on the page....

I understand that the larger one with the flag motif translates as "Mission Accomplished".

He's not saying the headline isn't awesome, just that subby didn't come up with it

Drink Your Ovaltine? Man, it's just a crummy commercial.

And then we all realize that subby saw the image on the page and thought that's what the translation actually said.

I have a friend who defaults to River Song if she needs a costume. She getting married in a few months, I fear the theme for the wedding.

River Song was really the moment where the Dr. Who writers stopped caring whether things made sense or not and just said "meh -- time travel". She's not a bad character, but her relationship with the doctor and her origins were poo.

It's the only show that freely farks with continuity under the guise that it can't fark with continuity, and I think it kinda suffers for that fact.

I stopped watching Doctor Who.

seriously, I loved the show until she showed up.  Bad memories of her dumb ass on ER, her stupid accent, her dumb farking face.  She said "spoilers", I said "spoiled".

Seriously.  fark her.
